Sometimes a lot of throught goes into something simple:
We've framed this stunning painting by Caroline Hobbs with a simple solid oak frame, but a lot more has gone in to this choice of frame than you might think. The oak was chosen to bring out the lighter pinky browns & therefore make the painting pop. A single oak frame would have been too narrow to do justice to the painting. So, we 'stacked' the frame, joing two frames together, to give this double frame look which adds width, presence & importance to the artwork. Then we hand finished the oak frames with a natuaral wax to bring out the grain in the oak. So, not that simple after all.
