We are here in the sunshine at the Bude Food Festival. Come and see us 💚

We're looking forward to a ReFill day out at the Bude Food Festival this Sunday, 9th August at The Castle Bude, 10am - 5pm.

Come and talk to us about the what, whys and hows of refilling. A great opportunity if you've always been meaning to come into the shop but never got round to it!

There will be a selection of refills available to buy (snacks, cereal, pasta, washing-up liquid, bodycare products), plus a water station so you can top up your reusable bottle.

We'll also be running a little competition: try your hand at measuring out pasta from one of our gravity hoppers. Closest to 100g wins a voucher to spend in the shop!

Our stand will be at the top of the site, right in front of the castle. Look forward to seeing you there!

Forgotten your usual bottle? Popped in on a whim? Spotted something extra you just can't leave without?! The spares box is very well stocked at the moment, so we should be able to find you a suitable container to take whatever you need home!

Just tipped over the 1800 mark for refills this month. Washing up liquid was the overall winner, making up nearly one third of the 317 refills of our Sesi Detergent Refill products. That's hundreds of new plastic bottles that haven't been bought. Good work, Bude!

NEW PRODUCT IN STOCK!!!

Most of us have at least a small amount of synthetic fabrics in our wardrobes, and if you're sporty or outdoorsy, you probably have lots! Every time those clothes go through the wash, they shed thousands of microplastic fibres, which wastewater treatment plants can't fully filter out. Where do they end up? In our rivers and seas, where they disrupt delicate ecosystems and enter our food chain.

We are very pleased, therefore, to now be selling these laundry bags from Guppyfriend. Designed to catch the microplastics before they can enter the water system, they also reduce the number of fibres that break off in the first place, so your clothes will last longer.

Super simple to use, just:
1. Zip your synthetics into the bag and put it in the washing machine along with the rest of your load.
2. Wash as normal, but no hotter than 40 degrees.
3. Remove the clean clothes from the bag and collect the captured fibres from the hem and corners.
4. Dispose of them in your general waste bin.
5. Feel good about having done something to help reduce water pollution.

This was a really interesting, community-focused evening. Thanks to all involved for organising the event and creating a space for discussion, and a space for our zero-waste pop-up sweet shop!
