Kathy's Fluid Creations

Kathy's Fluid Creations Being retired and needing a hobby for the winter months, I discovered 'Fluid Art' and arising from that, the art of jewelry making.

Every piece is a one off and each pattern in the jewelry is formed from the paint dripping off one of my paintings.

A new line for Christmas:
Bracelets using, like all my jewelry, the fabulous patterns created by the paint dripping off the canvas.
Including a 'fried egg'?

Well what a weekend at St Mawgan steam and Vintage craft fair. My first proper fair. A fabulous group of crafters so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The support given by the public for my craft, once they appreciated how my jewelry was made, was lovely even if they didn't buy.
It was an opportunity for me to find out what people liked but really every creation got a positive response so..............
Any onward ... I now have to turn everything towards Christmas designs.
I hope also to start putting a few items up for sale each week on this page for those living away, which could be posted to you. This will probably start after I have had a short break away so after the first week of October.
To the new people following me Thanks for your support.

The new line in coasters is now available.
I have chosen 6 canvases as a starter for this project. They have them been digitalized and then printed. So each coaster is a small copy of the original canvas.
At present I can't afford to have a stock of each so :
They can be ordered by email in 2s, 4s or 6s.
Launch price: £12; £24; £35. + Postage.
Allow up to 14 days for delivery

At last I will be attending my first true craft fair @ St. Mawgan Steam and Vintage Rally 18-20 September. Many Christmas fairs are also booked.
For this fair I have 12 ft of table, so this is a practice set up in my small lounge.

Over the last year I have been experimenting and wandering into many aspects of fluid art. From Artworks to Jewelry, coasters, bookmarks, keyrings, photo frames and...and ...
I have loved discovering this art and have so much more to explore. Some forms have been very successful others maybe not so.
I now know which parts I want to continue exploring and therefore what direction I wish to take Kathy's Fluid Creations.
In a few weeks I will be reorganizing this page to a more formal platform to launch the exciting new concepts and of course carrying on with some of the existing stock, which people will be able to purchase in person at my studio , craft fairs or order by email to be posted.
Whether I also open an Etsy shop is still being considered. Only time will tell.

It is so pleasing to sell my first painting but even more wonderful to be sent photos of its location.
'The Tree of Life ' is very relevant for this dear friend.

After struggling with the 'spinning technique ' just using a basic 30 cm diameter 'Lazy Susy ', I always wished for the large spinners you see the 'experts' use. But at a large cost. Too much for a 74 yr old retiree.
Saw a video of a diy spinner and thought .... she can, .. so why not me.
At a cost of less than £5 I have amended my small lazy susy... And it works.
I used kitchen shelf stops as the retainers.
Needs finishing, cleaning and painting BUT I am so eager to try it out tomorrow that it will have to wait.
I also added a flip up extension to the work top to prevent paint spilling on the floor.
6 months in and just loving this craft.
