Well this has been a week of two halves..

🍾Today marks four years since we first opened the doors to The Treasury..

🐾 and yesterday we said a very sad goodbye to our little doggy, Pepper.

She was very old, and had been with us for about 15 years, although she was 16 and a half. My two boys hardly remember a life without her.
Needless to say our kitchen was very quiet this morning.

I had planned a little celebration this week to mark our four years on Budleigh High St, but I'm afraid my heart's not quite in it today!❤️

After a lovely long lunch together on Saturday, we dropped this one at Uni yesterday. (The one in the cap, not the dog).
Lots of my friends have messaged to ask how it went. Answer: everything, everywhere all at once.
🦚 Pride, to have watched him create this opportunity entirely off his own back.
🥳 Excitement, for the potential, the fun, and the friendships you forge at that stage in your life.
(😭 And honestly, sadness here being at home without him and his noisy, annoying, fabulous presence).
We got back last night and I opened my birthday cards and pressies from my very kind friends and family..honestly a slightly odd birthday for me this year- and tomorrow our youngest son turns 18!😱😭

We're running a Secret Book Sale at The Treasury! It's something Laura and I talked about a couple of.years ago, but didn't quite get round to doing, so here it is!
Because of the huge catchment area of Millwater school, it's difficult for them to organise school or pta events and the like, so any extra funds are hard to come by.
So, if you're local, and a reader, (or know someone who is), please consider donating a small amount to Millwater, and taking away your next read! Tell the others!
Huge thanks go to those who donated so many fabulous books, especially Sue for her very generous donation, (Sue also happens to be the current and rather excellent chair of ), and to my wonderful book club ladies for doing all the wrapping up!

Last Saturday, this little pink gift shop was buzzing, and non-stop. Happy days.

This Saturday, by comparison, takings were down by 80%.

Now there are a few things I know I can partially attribute this to. But the whole darn thing of running a shop here is just SO RANDOM! Is it like that everywhere at the moment?

Does anyone have any wisdom for me?!
