Freshly picked by hand, our homegrown Wilja new potatoes are now in the farm shop! 🥔🌱

There’s nothing quite like the taste of freshly harvested new potatoes. Our Wilja potatoes are loved for their creamy texture, buttery flavour and incredible versatility – perfect boiled, steamed, roasted or simply served with a k**b of butter and a sprinkle of fresh herbs.

Not only do they taste fantastic, they’re naturally low in fat, a good source of fibre, vitamin C and potassium, and provide slow-release energy to keep you going.

When you shop with us, you’re doing more than buying great food. You’re supporting a local family farm, helping to keep money in the local community, reducing food miles, and enjoying produce picked fresh from our fields rather than travelling hundreds of miles to reach your plate.

If you haven’t tried our homegrown Wilja new potatoes yet, now’s the perfect time. We think you’ll taste the difference.

🌿🐦 Good news from the farm! 🐦🌿

We’ve just received the results of our annual breeding bird survey, and we’re delighted to share that we recorded 33 breeding bird species this year!

📈 That’s up from:
• 29 species in 2025
• 27 species in 2024

We’re especially proud that several of these are species of conservation concern Red Listed species:

Skylark
Swift
House Martin
House Sparrow
Greenfinch
Linnet
Cirl Bunting

There was even more good news this year:
✨ Skylark breeding numbers have increased, showing that our farmland continues to provide valuable habitat.
✨ Cirl Buntings have been recorded here for the first time – a fantastic milestone for the farm.
🦉 Our Barn Owls successfully raised another brood, making use of the nest box we bought last year from the Barn Owl Trust.

Every hedgerow, field margin and wildlife-friendly farming decision helps create a home for nature, and it’s wonderful to see these efforts reflected in the survey results.

We may not have 45 breeding bird species like Jeremy Clarkson, but then again… his farm is more than twice the size of ours! 😉 We’d say 33 is something to be very proud of.

Skylark numbers have increased from 9 to 13 territories although this could be improved with your help. They are ground nesting birds, using the field margins along the cliff fields and footpaths. We put signs up asking walkers not to cut across the headland by the river mouth, which most seem to be abiding. The most important thing is to try to encourage people to not only keep to the path, but to not allow their dogs to run free in the fields and field margins. This would help secure a sustainable population of this endangered species.

Thank you to everyone who supports our farm and helps make space for wildlife alongside food production. 💚🌾

The combine has been rolling and we’ve managed to harvest all of our wheat. Very early again this year due to the prolonged heat. A nice drop of rain would be nice for the rest of the farm now please!!

Today we’re saying goodbye to Jackson, the farm cat 😢
If you’ve shopped in the farm shop you may have seen him miaowing for some cuddles or sunning himself in the yard!
Over 10 years ago he wandered onto the farm during lambing season. He’d watch the lambing, and occasionally accept a treat, giving a bite or scratch in return 🫣
It turned out he had a home in Otterton so he was duly returned, and then he was returned again and again until it became clear he just wanted to live at the farm, and so he did! He has been a much loved and pampered member of the farm family ever since.
Rest in peace Jackson 🐾
