🚨 FT AT THE MILL 🚨Today we welcomed Broxbourne Rovers, looking to bounce back from what was a tough loss last week. The message from the off was clear: start fast and be aggressive.
Boca started very well, danger man Calum Browne constantly taking his man on, and having lots of success, Freddie Payne pulling the strings in the middle of the park, and the attacking pair of Myles Radwell and Dan Bullock asking lots of questions. It was Bullock who opened the scoring just shy of 20 minutes, taking the ball past the keeper and slotting into an empty net. Broxbourne responded well and asked plenty of questions of the Boca back line, pouncing on some indecisive defending to level the match at 1-1 2 minutes after we took the lead.
At the start of the second half Boca again kept the ball well and looked to make the breakthrough. It was Bullock again who got the goal to retake the lead, latching onto a good ball forward from Darnell Ramsay and slotting home nicely.
Boca were again asked to defend on multiple occasions after taking the lead and all the boys stood up to the challenge, determined to learn from previous mistakes and secure 3 points. With 5 minutes to go that seemed certain as a foul on George Bovington by the Broxbourne goalkeeper gave Bullock the chance to claim his hat trick from the spot. Bullock sent the keeper the wrong way, completing his hat trick and giving Boca a 2 goal advantage into the dying stages of the game. Broxbourne did however pull one back to make it 3-2 straight after but it was too little too late as the final whistle blew. Boca claimed a much needed 3 points, and the outstanding Dan Bullock claimed the match ball with a fantastic first hat trick for the club.
Thank you to all those that came down to support.
