Sazzas crafts started during lock down for me to sell my crafts.
I have been knitting and sewing for a long time. I especially like to knit socks 🧦 and gnomes as I find that they develop a character as they are made.

Today’s meet the maker is the lovely Madison’s Makes.

Hi, my name is Joanne and I run Madison Makes. How did this start: My mum died after having cancer for 11 months, and as I was her full time carer I was stuck wondering what to do. Before she was ill I worked in pensions full time. After mum's funeral my husband said, "So what are you going to do?". I said "Sew, I'm going to start sewing ", he fell about laughing. I had never sewn!!!

So, I bought some fabric that I liked, and a sewing pattern, booked onto a sewing class and the rest is history .... or not.

I walked into the class with a joyful mood. The teacher was lovely. She told me that the pattern I had chosen wouldn't work with the fabric. What did I know about fabric, I just liked it.

Well it did work in the end, but that was because my teacher made it work, lots of jiggery pokery going on.

I learned so much, so then booked onto a beginner sewing course, something I should of done first. I have made many clothes over the years, for myself.

Then, after different sewing courses I was making cushions, bunting, toys, weekend holdalls. It got a bit of an obsession, I loved it. Then I started attending markets and craft fayres.

All in all, I love what I do, and I have an obsession with fabric, sewing machines, sewing patterns, embroidery machines and haberdashery.

Sam and Amy from Collective Dreams have been wonderful and so supportive of me and I adore them both.

Just over two weeks until our first Birthday 🎂.
Todays meet the maker is our fabulous On the Button.

On the Button has been around for over 10 years now and was formed when my daughter was looking for a gift for a friend and couldn't find anything she liked, so I made her something and from there On the Button was born. I now stock in my first outlet 'Collective Dreams' and love creating new items for all the wonderful customers who come in to look around. My main sellers are my unique gonks, which are all one of a kind. I can also make these to your specifications, with colours and themes changed to suit. I also make family trees, framed 3D style wooden pictures, wooden plaques and, at Christmas, personalised tree decorations, which are very popular.

If you’re looking for something unique we have lots of offer in store including vintagevulgaremporium ✨

I’m Vintage Vulgar Emporium, run by Samii — a small business where I take vintage crockery and china and give it a whole new lease of life with funny, sassy, sarcastic (and sometimes sweary!) slogans.

I absolutely love taking something traditional — the kind of treasures you’d expect to find sitting proudly in Granny’s cabinet — and bringing it right into the 21st century. There’s something so special about giving old pieces a new story, especially when that story comes with a little bit of attitude!

I’m still a relatively new business, coming into my second year of trading, but the past year and a half has taught me so much and I’m incredibly excited to see where this little venture grows. I have my first markets planned for the end of the year, which is equal parts terrifying and exciting, but I can’t wait to get out there and share my creations in person.

You can find my pieces online through Etsy, as well as in five wonderful stockists across Bristol and the Southwest. I’m also incredibly proud to be part of Collective Dreams, run by the wonderful Sam and Amy, alongside so many other amazing independent makers.

Laura Laws Designs is a Somerset based brand that focuses on nature inspired jewellery using locally sourced British flowers.
Laura Laws Designs focuses on handmade. Each piece has its own personality much like nature itself. Although I strive to make each collection the same, uniqueness always prevails. Jewellery is such an amazing way to express yourself and they make such lovely gifts. All my pieces represent moments and memories. That rose petal from your wedding bouquet; forget me nots for a loved one, wild flowers for the free spirited.
I run the business alone but with lots of support from my family and only out source items such as jewellery and packaging supplies. I do all of the work behind the scenes myself including, picking and pressing all the flowers and foliage. None of the flowers I use are ever artificially coloured unless requested. Its so important to me to keep things as authentic as possible.
The business was founded in 2020 when I unfortunately was made redundant at my job whilst pregnant. I had always wanted to own real flower jewellery and could never find any, therefore, I decided to teach myself how to press flowers and make jewellery. The business has come a long way since then. I now make lot of other resin floral items and take custom orders, You can find me online; at markets and in 11 high street shops in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
I am so grateful for everyone's support on my journey.

Hi everyone, I’m Sam from Sams Fudge Somerset 💕

My fudge journey started during Covid when I began making fudge as a little treat for my co-workers as we continued to work through the pandemic. It was just something I enjoyed doing to brighten people’s day, and I never imagined that 5 years later it would grow into what it is today.
Since then, I’ve created over 200 different flavours and I still absolutely love experimenting and coming up with unusual combinations. Seeing people get excited to try something new is one of my favourite parts — and I’m always open to flavour requests too!

Alongside fudge, I also sell pocket money sweets, because I love having something for everyone to enjoy.

Another really special part of this journey has been becoming co-owner of Collective Dreams with Amy’s Wax Cottage. We met through events, got chatting, and realised we shared the same dream of having our own shop one day — and somehow, together, we made it happen 🩷

I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me over the years, whether you’ve bought fudge, shared my posts, visited us at events or simply cheered me on. I genuinely wouldn’t be here without you.

Founded in 2018, Somerset Natural Soaps is a small independent business based in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, where Julie handcrafts a wide range of natural bath, body and skincare products from her home studio.
Specialising in products for sensitive skin, Julie creates everything from scratch using her own carefully developed recipes. Each product is made in small batches using high-quality natural ingredients, with no artificial fragrances, synthetic colourants or harsh chemicals. Instead, Somerset Natural Soaps uses plant-based colourants, natural mineral clays and pure essential oils to create gentle, effective products that are kind to both skin and the environment.
The range includes handmade vegan soaps, skincare, body care and wellness products, alongside a selection of goat's milk and honey soaps made using ingredients sourced from trusted local suppliers. All ingredients are sustainably sourced, cruelty-free and completely palm oil free.
Committed to reducing environmental impact, Somerset Natural Soaps uses recyclable, plastic-free packaging wherever possible and focuses on creating products that are both luxurious and environmentally responsible.

Our meet the maker today is the talented Pebbles rock

For over 9 years, I've been creating pebble pictures inspired by a simple heart-shaped stone I found while walking along the beach. What began as making a few pieces for myself soon grew into thoughtful gifts for family and friends, and eventually into creating for craft fairs and personal commissions.
I love designing bespoke, unique pictures for every season throughout the year using natural materials - mostly pebbles, alongside treasured sea glass I was lucky enough to inherit, and the occasional piece of driftwood. My imagination runs wild with every new creation, and I still get excited whenever I discover that perfect pebble waiting to become part of a picture.
Because I work with natural materials, every piece I create is completely one of a kind.
