*"Very sad news that Alfie's tumour is cancerous but it is treatable and the first part has been good and successful of the operation to remove the tumour and this is going to stand him in good stead with what is next**
💙💙We are feeling sad and devastated that this has happened to our precious and beautiful boy but staying strong through Alfie's positive attitude💙💙
Been to see the onocology consultant and unfortunately it is cancer - medulloblastoma which is the most common brain tumour. He has now a plan of intensive treatment including firstly radiotherapy (6 weeks in Manchester) then 6 weeks rest before chemotherapy that could be up to 6 months. We are sad but relieved that they can cure this although he has a gruelling amount of procedures to go through he is at ease that they have an answer and a plan to cure him forever.
Alfie is fine with it all and as a teenager knows he will get well looked after in hospital both in Edinburgh and Manchester. We are back next wednesday for a lumber puncture and the results will go to Manchester where a plan for treatment is already being put in place for him. We will stay strong like Alfie as to look at him, he looks great and well especially after 2 lots of brain surgery that the consultant said went great. Christmas at home is probably cancelled for this year but we will celebrate in style once this is all over xx

💙💙The fantastic news is Alfie is home, after being discharged, yesterday afternoon, we didn’t let anyone know as just wanted to get home and settled in, on our own. We still don’t have the results of the analysis of the tumour, last hurdle hopefully, and will be back in, hopefully within this week to speak to the oncology team about whats next dependant on the findings of the tumour.
It is all feeling strange being home and will take a while to adapt after a two week bubble in hospital but the strength of Alfie has got us through so far and will continue to see us through going forward. It is hard to believe looking at him that he has went through 2 major brain surgeries, MRI scans and a bout of norovirus at the end, to walk away from hospital on just paracetamol, if required. He truly is our hero and Brain tumour boy will definitely be his tag line from now on.
We will let him take visitors in due course, probably this weekend onwards depending on how we are all feeling, as I am really feeling it today having stepped out that bubble and security of the hospital xx💙💙
Ross and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for the generosity, love and support you have shown us in the last two weeks, we have been very much lost for words at times but it has seen us through some very dark times and has eased a huge burden on us financially, which meant we could put all our focus and energy into seeing Alfie through what must have been the scariest thing he has had to go through so far in his 15 years of life xx💙💙
Another huge thank you must go to Fire & Lighting, The Mercat, Kirkcaldy, the owners Laura & Dave along with their customers/followers gave Alfie a huge box of Pokemon (worth hundreds of pounds) and the photos attached show him opening it up, the day after the removal of the tumour.! The delight in his face shows how much this special gift meant to him and he can’t wait to be fit enough to visit the shop to thank them direct xx💙💙

💙💙Daily update on Alfie's progress - 05/11💙💙

💙💙Further update 5/11on Alfie- after a night in HDU after a major operation to remove the tumour he is now back on ward and he had another MRI where there is no sign of any of the tumour being left which is fantastic news - it is now a waiting game of between 7-10 days whilst the tumour is away for thorough analysis and from there we will know what the future plan is for treatment! We are all feeling extremely positive as every procedure/operation so far has been successful and we are now in a much better place than we were, a week past Monday 💙💙
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all again for your generosity, in so many different ways, your love and support, has made us no longer feel we are alone in this battle 💕🙏xx

💙💙 fantastic news that Alfie is now out of surgery and the tumor has been completely removed. Alfie is now in the high dependency unit and is comfortable and they are all being well they are hoping to get him back to the ward tomorrow. 💙💙

💙💙 Alfie’s mum here with an update on Alfie. He is currently in the theatre for the operation to remove the tumour, it has happened sooner than planned but not for any bad reason just that a slot came up and his neuro surgeon felt it was better to do it sooner than tomorrow when the opportunity presented itself. He will be n surgery for 3-5 hours and then into either HDU or intensive care for hopefully 24 hours to be assessed before going back on the ward💙💙
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their generosity through our gofundme raiser set up by our lovely neighbours which has given Ross & I a huge sense of relieve financially whilst giving us the time and head space to just concentrate on our Alfie. We also want to let you know that we are feeling the love and support from everyone and no longer feel alone in this unexpected and awful situation we find ourselves in xx💕💕

This is my kind & lovely neighbour who approached me to see how her and the local community can help in this devastating situation we find ourselves in.
Alfie will always be our number one priority in all of this and I will not be able to leave his side while he goes through it and Ross is trying his best to help out by doing a few lessons when and how he can but our situation is dire and our world has been turned upside down in the blink of an eye.
I know times are tough for everybody but if you were able to send a small donation to the fund then we would be fully appreciative at this moment in our life’s. I am nearly in tears just writing this as never felt I would have to ask for this help! 💙💙

I am so heartbroken to be the bearer of really sad news. Since Monday our life has been turned upside down with my son being rushed to the sick kids in Edinburgh on Monday night with a brain tumour. On Wednesday he went through surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain from the tumour which has been successful and he is now onto preparation to remove the tumour next week. I hope you can understand that both me and my husband’s heads are all over the place as he is only 15 and never had any serious illness before. I am staying full time at the hospital and not sure how long this is going to take before I am home but hoping it will be in enough time to do all my Christmas orders as everything else is on hold as can’t even think about work at the moment!
Please pray and send healthy, healing thoughts to our boy, he is our hero and he is being so brave and positive and that is what we are all doing as a family 💙💙

What a summer it has been and I hope you have all had some time to enjoy the good weather 🌞😎
You have certainly kept me very busy with one order after another. I am very thankful for all the business, big or small, as I continue to see small businesses that have used my embroidery services in the past, now have to shut through no real vault of their own, it makes me sad!
During this summer I have picked up a few new customers but have been overwhelmed by the amount of orders that have come in from existing customers who love what I do for them.
