This sculpture is a vintage Chinese hand-carved mask, depicting an Emperor, Deity, or Warrior. These masks are traditionally hand-carved out of dense Asian hardwoods, most commonly rosewood, ironwood, or boxwood. The figure features an elaborate decorative headdress, high cheekbones, and a long flowing beard and mustache. On the sides, carved tassels hanging down from the headdress.
