Opening plans for this week for the floating Lancashire Wool shop.
The Wool Boats plans for 14th to 20th September 2026
After a great weekend in Parbold we are now back on our mooring ready to post out orders.
A bit of a slower week this week, which will give us chance to organize this years YARNSTRAVAGANZA.
First off, it’s back to the Slipway for Thursday afternoon the 17th of September for the Knit and Natter in the pub when everyone is all welcome to join the Slipway Stitchers in the pub, welcoming any stitchers, in which ever craft, to join them from 1 until about 4. For further info call Carole on 07919 598911.
The Wool Boat should be moored outside with Capt Col in charge open outside The Slipway on Crabtree Lane, (L40 0RN) open from 1-4.
Then if the weather is fit, we will be back somewhere near Burscough Wharf where we will be open on Sunday the 20th of September open from 11 to 4 each day.

Evening all.

Evening all, just like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to visit us today. the day started off damp but brightened up into a nice sunny afternoon and it's now turned into a nice peaceful evening. We had returning customers, and new folks that came to find us, with people buying autumn shades to crochet pumpkins out of and people starting to come back to crafting for the darker evenings. Once again quite a few balls of West Yorkshire Spinners yarns went to new homes, but we are now starting to run out of some shades with two selling out today...if you want some you may need to be quick :-)

Now it's time for some cheese and biscuits with a glass of port before we are open again here in Parbold tomorrow Sunday the 13th. Carole Wareing and Capt Col

Morning folks. A bit of a dull day up north today. Crafting day or a bit of fresh air and a visit to The Wool Boat open in Parbold from 11 to 4 for some supplies to start a new project or top up your stash? Carole and Capt Col.

After battling the floating penny worth w**d to get here from Burscough we are now moored alongside the carpark opposite The Windmill gallery and pub ready to be open on Saturday and Sunday, from 11 to 4.

As we have a bit more storage capacity with us, ie the truck we have got a bigger selection of Top Value DK available from the boat at £2 per 100 gram.

Todays other job was to post out another six balls of West Yorkshire Spinners 4 ply sock yarn, at £8.50 a ball.

After a nice afternoon inside and outside The Slipway for the knit and natter on Thursday afternoon we are now set fair to cruise to Parbold to be open on Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 4. Will advise of where we are moored once we get there.

Added to discounted box and page

Hi all, we've just added Summer Sunset shade of West Yorkshire Spinners 4 ply sock yarn to our discounted box and the discounted page in our webshop. A nice bright shade as the autumn draws on. Normally £8.50 a ball, on offer at £6.50 a 100 gram ball.
