Burton is about to get a whole lot more fun…

The Statutes Fair rolls back into town this tomorrow, bringing rides, lights, thrills and plenty of fairground noise to the Market Place and surrounding streets. Whether you’re after a spin, a scream, some delicious treats, or just fancy soaking up the atmosphere, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Sunday 4 October | 12.30pm–11pm
Monday 5 October | 12pm–11pm
Tuesday 6 October | 12pm–11pm

Please note, road and car park closures will be in place from 4pm on Saturday 3 October until 6am on Wednesday 7 October.

It’s all happening at Burton Market Hall today as Lite Bites Café host their Macmillan Coffee Morning!

Come along between 9am and 4pm for cake, games, market stalls, a cake competition and a chance to win on the tombola, all while helping raise money for Macmillan.

Lite Bites are hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning at Burton Market Hall tomorrow, and you’re invited!

Pop along from 9am–4pm for a hot drink and a slice of cake for a donation going to Macmillan. There’ll also be a tombola, cake competition, games, market stalls and more.

Come for the cake, stay for the fun and help support a brilliant cause.

Were you there? Who was your favourite artist of the day? Maybe you discovered someone new, found yourself singing along to a song you’d never heard before, or ended up dancing somewhere you never expected.

From the Market Place and Hall, to the Library, Burton College, The Brewhouse, Abbey Arcade and Burton Caribbean Centre, music took over the town. And even the rain couldn’t stop it.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made Sonic Boom what it was. To the musicians who brought the music, the crew and volunteers who made it happen, and the local businesses and venues who opened their doors and played their part, thank you.

Sonic Boom was about more than one day of free live music. It was about putting artists on stages, bringing people together and showing what can happen when a town gets behind music, creativity and culture.

Because creativity needs a stage, and on Saturday, Burton gave it a town full of them.

And now, Burton, this one’s for you, let's welcome the Pale Waves to our stage. All day, our town has been filled with music. People have come together in the Market Place, discovering new sounds, meeting friends, exploring the town and celebrating what makes Burton special.

Music in the heart of our town. A crowd brought together. And when the main stage falls quiet, the music carries on, moving through the town and into the night.

Next it's the moment we’ve been building towards... All day, Burton has been turning up the volume. Now it’s time for PALE WAVES to take over the Market Place stage.

If you’re not down here yet, what are you waiting for? Join us for huge indie-pop, soaring vocals and the biggest singalong of the day as our headliners bring Sonic Boom’s main stage to a close.

Sonic Boom is bringing more than great music to the Market Place. With food vendors serving up gyros, pizza, Jamaican food, sweet treats and plenty more, there’s every reason to make a day of it.

Grab something to eat, settle in front of the Market Hall and enjoy the music while you munch. Stay for another band, soak up the atmosphere and see where the day takes you.

So come into town, bring your appetite and make a day of Sonic Boom.
