Our walk-in flu vaccination service is back this October! 🍂

📅 FROM 1ST OCTOBER
💙 NHS-eligible patients aged 50 and over can receive their FREE NHS flu vaccination.

📅 FROM 12TH OCTOBER
💙 NHS-eligible patients under 50 can receive their FREE NHS flu vaccination.
💉 Private flu vaccinations will also be available for those who aren’t eligible for a free NHS vaccine.

September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month. Swipe to learn the key symptoms of the five gynaecological cancers, so you know what to look out for.

You know your body better than anyone. Knowing what’s normal for you can help you spot when something changes.

Having any of these symptoms does not definitely mean you have cancer, but it’s important to get checked by a GP.

If your symptoms are caused by cancer, finding it early may mean it’s easier to treat.

We are now offering NHS MenB Vaccinations in our town centre branch.

Some young adults aged between 17 and 25 years old can get free NHS MenB vaccinations this year. 

They are recommended to help protect those at highest risk from MenB disease.

MenB disease is a serious bacterial infection which can cause meningitis, blood poisoning, and sepsis. It progresses very quickly and can be fatal.

Who is eligible?

Free NHS MenB vaccinations will be available from 20th July 2026 if you were:  

Born between 1st September 2007 and 31st August 2008, or

Born on or after 21st July 2001 and are starting university for the first time in autumn, or

Born on or after 21st July 2001 and are starting some residential further education colleges for the first time in autumn 2026 as a residential student.

Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accuracy Checking Technician to join our healthcare team. This role involves verifying prescriptions and medication orders to ensure precision and safety in patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, experience in pharmacy settings, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy. The position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient safety whilst working within a supportive and professional environment.

Duties

Carefully review and verify prescriptions against medication orders for accuracy and completeness
Cross-check medication labels, dosages, and patient information to prevent errors
Assist with medication administration procedures under supervision, ensuring compliance with protocols
Support patient care activities by providing accurate medication information and guidance when necessary
Maintain detailed records of verification processes in accordance with regulatory requirements
Collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals to resolve discrepancies or issues promptly
Ensure all medication storage and handling complies with health and safety standards
Participate in ongoing training programmes to stay updated on pharmaceutical regulations and best practices

Requirements

Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar healthcare role is essential
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
Strong organisational skills with an exceptional eye for detail
Ability to work accurately under pressure within fast-paced environments
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or related fields is preferred
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to health and safety regulations
This role is integral to ensuring the safe dispensation of medications, supporting optimal patient outcomes, and upholding the highest standards of healthcare practice.

Five days a week - Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm with an hour lunchbreak.
