Those of you who know me are probably aware of how much I love Smoking Monkey Antiques. However, after many sleepless nights I have made the decision to reduce the opening times and as from the week beginning Monday 21st July we will not be opening on Wednesdays.
Sometimes you just have to be sensible and put health, family and friends first….and the new opening times should give a better balanced life…Occasionally you have to remind yourself that you are actually not Super Woman!
If there is something in the shop you would like and are unable to get here on these days, just get in touch and I’m sure we can sort something out.

We currently have a shop full of beautiful things guaranteed to brighten up your Christmas and December.
During December we will be opening on Sundays, 11.00 to 15.00 and in addition to that we will be open Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd 10.00 to 16.00. This is in addition to our usual opening days of Wednesday to Saturday.
We will be closed on Christmas Eve and will reopen on Thursday 2nd January.
We look forward to seeing you over the festive season…and please don’t ask why we haven’t got our fairy lights up!

It’s the sunflower season and the geraniums are flowering too…this makes me smile every time I walk in the door.
Pearl is in the shop tomorrow, Saturday 14th June and we will be open 10 to 4. We look forward to seeing you soon…

Starting this Sunday, 1st December, we will be opening on a Sunday up till Christmas. Opening times are 11am to 3pm. We look forward to seeing you and helping with your Christmas shopping in a very special stainable way. ❤️

I found this rather lovely 1916 edition of a Bury St Edmunds guidebook. Beautiful adverts I particularly love the ones for schools.

We have a beautiful pair of brass crucifixes today. These clearly screw into something but I’m not sure what. I think if they were processional crosses the backs would be fancier…but I could be wrong.
Each cross measures 30cm by 15 cm and the price is £65 for the pair.
