Not very good this would not happen with us
⚠️ Brides have been 'left without a dress' on their wedding day despite shelling out huge deposits to Je Roche (pictured).
Two women who spoke to the Manchester Evening News say they were measured up and paid more than a £1,000 each to Je Roche fashion house, which specialises in Asian weddings and has shops in Manchester, Bradford and Birmingham.
But their dresses were never delivered.
The manager of the company, Mohammed Farid Anwar, 24, has since told the Manchester Evening News he has apologised to them and blamed a robbery at his business for delays.
One bride, aged 21, who asked not to be named, said £1,600 was paid as a deposit in December last year but the gown failed to arrive from Pakistan, where it was being made, by the agreed date of May 10 this year.
She is due to be wed in front of 300 guests on August 10, and says she has given up hope that the dress will arrive on time.
As her wedding day approaches, she says: "I'm quite frustrated, very worried and quite stressed. The wedding is only a few weeks away. It's a lot of stress and anger."
Her mother adds: "We are absolutely beside ourselves. We put our full trust in them since December and they don't understand the pain and anxiety they have caused. It's a massive day for us. I've actually reached out to the original designer in Pakistan and we're paying another £2,400 to him directly for a second dress."
"It's not even about the deposit anymore. I'm so angry he's done this... I just want to make sure nobody else has to go through what we've had to go through."
A message sent to the bride from Je Roche, seen by the Manchester Evening News, insisted the order had been 'completed' but it blamed a 'dispute between the supplier and our business'.
It went on that a refund was not possible due to 'our business accounts remain subject to banking restrictions' following an 'incident' in one of its stores on June 9.
The message continued that 'we are not ignoring your concerns' and concluded: "We sincerely apologise for the distress and inconvenience this has caused."
Another bride spoken to by the Manchester Evening News paid a deposit of £1,450 in January but she said her dress failed to be delivered by June 15 as agreed. She eventually married in a second dress in Bolton last week, which she sourced herself directly through a designer in Pakistan.. The dress arrived from Pakistan via DHL delivery just two days before the big day.
