This morning we received a Defra sheep identification inspection π
A random inspection with just under 24 hours notice to check up on our animals and records.
β
οΈ Every animal was checked for correct identification
β
οΈ Movement records were cross-checked for traceability
β
οΈ Our flock register and livestock records were reviewed and checked against Defra's annual inventory
A thorough process but thankfully a big thumbs up from the inspector π
And while it wasn't the call we wanted to get yesterday afternoon, this is a great reminder of why buying British food really matters.
When you choose British produce you're chosing food that's produced under some of the highest welfare and traceability standards in the world π
Farms like ours are regularly inspected and our records are constantly scrutinised to make sure we're doing things properly ππβ
οΈ
So that when you pick up British meat from our farm shop, or anywhere else, you can do it with confidence - because behind every product is a huge amount of hard work and accountability β¨οΈππ¬π§
