We find ourselves in need of someone to join our friendly team in our busy cafe.

If you are able to tick all the bullet points below, please drop your CV in at the Bookstore or email to me at [email protected] (or a detailed covering letter) before Monday at noon, and we will give you a call by Monday evening to let you know the next steps. The person we are looking for:

* has a background in hospitality/catering…experience in this area is essential. You will need to have experience in kitchen and customer facing roles

* is able to work all weekend

* is happy to occasionally take on the role of duty supervisor to cover absence

* loves to work in a busy kitchen and cafe, with a supportive and friendly team

* is punctual, professional and friendly, with a sound work ethic and a good sense of humour

* is able to join us ASAP

We have four days available…Thursday and Friday 11-3 pots
Saturday 9-5 kitchen
Sunday 10-5 cafe/kitchen

Our monthly quiz is tonight! Cobble a team together and come and have a great night out with family and friends …it’s the best quiz in the best bookstore cafe for at least 10 miles around 🤣🙌

Hello lovely Facebook followers 👋 I don’t know all of you personally, but I do know many of you as customers and friends. With this in mind, I’m sharing my personal, very exciting, news here, I hope nobody minds …but I’m bursting to tell the world because I’m so happy 🥰

After spending 2 weeks travelling around the most breathtaking scenery, dramatic mountains, idyllic beaches, silent lochs in the middle of nowhere…so many beautiful, romantic places and moments, Ben decided that he’d propose to me by the kitchen sink when we got home 🤣

(Apparently, he had brilliant plans for a mountain top proposal, unfortunately my ring didn’t arrive in time for our trip, so the kitchen it was 🤣).

I said yes, of course, because he’s everything I could ever wish for, all wrapped into one beautiful human 🥰

I love listening to the stories from his past and his new hair-brained schemes and brilliant inventions, I love that he’s unique in so many ways, how quirky and interesting and funny he is…I love that he’s kind and polite and interested in politics and that he questions things. I love his taste in music and his wonderful individual way of dancing. I love his style, I love that he skates and rides so brilliantly…and I absolutely love that he makes my tummy ache from laughing so much on a daily basis.

Ben is my safe place and my weirdo for life ❤️ and I’m his weirdo…with a ring to prove it 🥰

Hello! Good morning Facebook land…I have a favour to ask…

Does anyone know any tradespeople who can help with the following:

Making a door from our kitchen to the cafe so that the cool air from the aircon in the kitchen doesn’t escape into the cafe!

Fixing an emergency exit fire door.

Servicing our aircon.

Putting more extraction into our kitchen.

Sorting out our drains!

If anyone can send me contact names and numbers for reliable tradespeople I’d really appreciate it. I have had various people say they would come and look and give me a quote…they either never turn up or they come but never supply the quote 😩
