Do you have an Overlocker or serger machine?
When last did it have a good clean?

As the year is coming to an end, I felt it high time to do a little clean up of my Overlocker, because as you know this machine has had a lot of use and I don’t want her to have un necessary wear and tear due to lint build up!

I decided to open her up and give it a good clean! I must admit, it was worse than I expected, but nothing my soft paintbrush and hoover couldn’t handle. I also made sure to change the needles, give the machine a good Wipe down and a drink of oil! And just like that she’s all done and ready to go again! Now Shes just waiting for her next project….. a bit like me! 😍

I will say at this, getting your machines serviced regularly is very important to keep your sewing machines and overlockers sewing well for many years and if you don’t feel up to giving this a go yourself, then definitely seek professional servicing from the lovey Brett & Claudette , they really are fantastic, friendly and offer fantastic customer service!

Another fantastic make by Trude on the Hive classes. Transforming a dress pattern into 2 separate pieces, a skirt with waistband and fitted top with zip closure! Love the colours in this viscose fabric on her! Absolutely fantastic!

So rewarding to see Ciara wearing her jacket! This was a labour of love covering many more techniques than in the pattern instructions, like mounting for one, but so worth it! It’s fabulously made and constructed carefully! Amazing work Ciara! Well done! I know you will enjoy wearing this beauty for years to come!

So excited to share our lovey clients latest completed project! This project was started using the Tilly and the buttons “Erin” pattern. We then made some adaptions to adjust the pattern to a style that was more form fitting with extra details for a closer fit. There’s a lot of work in this piece with all the extra top stitching, side pockets, button placket and inner lined bodice, but it was definitely worth every adjustment! Our client is delighted with the end result and now has a wonderful piece of clothing that is functional and classic. This can be styled up or dressed down and is super easy and comfortable to wear. Very well done! I am certain you will love wearing your dungarees!! 👏🏻
