With the ambition of bringing the freshest fish from around the UK to our friends and neighbours in Camberley, Surrey the business has gone from strength to strength and we now see visitors from far an

d wide. It has been truly humbling to welcome so many visitors to our shop and we are so very lucky to have so many fabulous, supportive customers

We have stayed true to our core values, ensuring that every single product we sell is the freshest, best quality available and we are really proud to be able to showcase some of the finest fish in the world, caught right here in the UK. We were thrilled to be awarded Independent Fish Retailer of the Year in 2020 and also to have been invited to take part in the BBC2 series Cornwall: This Fishing Life

We work closely with a few very select suppliers who share our values, and we have close friendships with many of the fishermen who catch the fish you will find on our counter. We also actively support The Fishermen’s Mission which is the only fishermen’s charity that provides emergency support alongside practical, financial, spiritual and emotional care, helping all fishermen, active or retired and their families. We have helped to raise funds and awareness for this very worthwhile charity for many years and were very proud to be presented with their Outstanding Achievement Award

What a week🩵🐟

Enormous thanks to for an absolutely sterling effort every single day this week. You smashed it and I’m so grateful to you all for going the extra mile with early starts and huge step counts 😘 🙌

And an even bigger thank you to everyone who visited, waited patiently in those queues (major Covid flashbacks 😬) and were so generous with your kindness and words of encouragement 🩵

After mentioning on our WhatsApp community that I needed to remember to breathe, I lost count of the number of people who put a hand on my shoulder and said… ‘just breathe’ - it really helped! Photos courtesy of some lovely customers who sent them to me, I’m so glad I didn’t know that was what it looked like outside or there may have been a major panic attack 😱

And now, a few days recuperating in the glorious sunshine. We’re back on Wednesday beautiful people 🩵

I’ve spent the best part of half a century in the fish industry and there’s nothing quite like it.

This industry has given me incredible opportunities… from Saturday girl in Mum and Dads Fish Shop to President of the National Federation of Fishmongers and along the way I’ve met some of the most passionate, hardworking and knowledgeable people you could imagine.

From the fishermen and markets, to the processors, smokers, merchants, fishmongers and chefs, every part of the seafood chain relies on skill, care and pride in what we do. We are incredibly fortunate in the UK to have access to world class seafood

One of the most rewarding things in recent years has been seeing more young people, and especially more women, entering the industry and bringing fresh energy, ideas and passion with them. And who knows… maybe one day I’ll be teaching the 4th generation of my family the difference between a Dover sole and a plaice 🤣

I’m proud to support and proud to play a small part in helping showcase and celebrate this incredible industry ❤️🐟

A counter full of deliciousness 🩵🦞🎣🐙

Some really fantastic hauls today… Andrew’s Lobsters, Spiders and Octopus are back 🙌 Rod and Line Caught Wild Bass from Dorset, superb flatties - turbot, lemons, dovers and plaice… it’s all outstanding 🥰

Lots of kebabs and ready to cook goodies - next week is looking absolutely fab weather wise, so make sure to get your orders in for the Bank Holiday weekend!

🧑‍🎓 What great feedback!

Last week we provided salmon heads to Kings Academy in Binfield for A Level biology students to dissect, giving them the chance to properly explore and understand how fish works… gills, structure, and how it all fits together. Real hands-on learning that you just can’t get from a textbook.

We’re always keen to support our local schools and colleges where we can. It’s usually Food Tech or Hospitality, so it’s been really interesting to see students engaging with fish in a completely different way.

And judging by the feedback… they absolutely loved it.

We’ve got lots more planned in May too! We’re really excited to be working with the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers’ to get fish into local schools for learning 🙌

Good morning beautiful people and it’s yet another fabulous day for fish lovers ❤️

Today’s top picks were hard, but… bluefin tuna belly, superb rod and line caught Wild Dorset Bass, inshore Newlyn John Dory, and exceptional sardines… just in time for those weekend BBQs 🔥

With such huge landings of Bass and Dory we’ve seen some very welcome price easing which is always a bonus, and the quality really is outstanding 🙌

We’re preparing lots of our legendary kebabs - they’ve built quite a following over the years! With potato salad, coleslaw, lots of marinated goodies and super-garlicky whole fish to tickle your tastebuds, any of you planning some alfresco cooking this weekend are in for a real treat 🔥

So, with the sunshine, a happy team, a happy queue and exceptional fish, it really is gearing up to be the perfect end to a perfect week ☀️

We’re hiring 👋

We’re looking for someone to join at The Fish Shop for 3 days a week.

This is a hands-on role… serving customers, helping in the kitchen, and getting stuck in wherever needed. It’s fast-paced, physical at times, and no two days are the same.

What we’re really looking for is the right person:

🥰 Friendly, upbeat and confident with customers
🙌 Loves food (you don’t need to know fish, we’ll teach you)
💪 Happy to roll their sleeves up and muck in
🔪 Quick to learn and able to work at pace

No experience needed, just a positive attitude and sunny disposition 🥰

We’re a small, tight team and standards are high, so it’s important you take pride in what you do.

Hours are 7am–4pm, initially Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, with flexibility to pick up additional days over time.

This is an immediate start role (not a summer position, as our returning students are already in place), so please only apply if you’re available now 🙏

rolls around again and what a week it’s been 🙌

Firstly, a huge well done to Niamh 🥰 she’s about to start her career as a fishmonger working alongside her dad, Paul, at Fish Glorious Fish at Caisey Fields Farm Shop near Reading. Paul asked if she could spend a week with us to get a little insight into how we operate and we’re delighted to have her here. It’s her last day today, she’s been absolutely fantastic and we’ll miss her, but I’m sure we’ll keep in touch. If you see her today, wish her well for this new, exciting chapter 🙌

Secondly, thank you everyone who’s helped us support The Fishermen's Mission over the years 🩵 at their AGM on Tuesday we were recognised with a special award for our fundraising effort. It’s unbelievable that we’ve raised over £30,000 which really is outstanding and hugely appreciated by the charity and everyone involved 🩵

Lastly… FISH! What a fabulous selection today, with lots more due in for Saturday. Wild Bass like silver bars, lemons, dovers, superb turbot and dory. Piles of shellfish including our stunning XL Shetland Scallops, Fal Natives and whopper Tigers… it’s a wonderful week to be a fishmonger 🩵
