An outing for the 1969 debut solo release from the voice and bass of Cream.

Jack Bruce: "Songs for a Tailor" this is chronology Bruce's second album the instrumental jazz album "Things We Like" was recorded first but not released until 1970.

The album features lyrics by poet Pete Brown that came in for criticism at the time for being too hippy drippy.

The album contains many Bruce staples that he would revisit many times over his career like "Theme from an Imaginary Western" and "Rope Ladder to The Moon" in fact only "To Isengard'' was not reworked at a later stage.

The album's title is a tribute to Jeannie Franklyn Cream's wardrobe designer (tailor) who had recently died in the Fairport Convention tour bus crash along with her then boyfriend Martin Lamble. She is said to have written Bruce a letter that said '...sing some high notes for me..." Jack received the letter after her death on his 26th birthday.

From the last jam we had in the shop with Ben, Mairi and John.

For those of you who knew her, the funeral of our dear friend Mairi Williamson will take place at Camborne Crematorium on Thursday the 5th of December at 12:30. Her family has asked that there be no flowers but a donation to the food bank will be welcome as it was a cause that was close to Mairi’s heart.

Mairi was a great friend of ours at Dylan’s a vibrant, funny and talented lady, with a furious passion for the arts and love of music at which she excelled. We will miss her dearly.

A sad day for me as I leave Dylan’s for the last time after nearly 4 years in Camborne. Thank you to all that supported and worked with us over that time, it was like pulling teeth at times but I loved it.

Also we had the impossibly sad news that one of our dear friends and an incredibly talented artists passed away yesterday afternoon. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very sad time. Xx
