I am an indepedent seller of children’s books, based in Cambourne, near Cambridge. My curated collection of children’s books includes books for all ages from babies to young adult, from a range of publishers. I passionately believe that every child can enjoy reading for pleasure. Whilst some children will appear to read anything, others are more particular about what they read. The way a story is
written and what its is about will make a difference to whether a child finds a book they want to read. The good news is that there is a huge variety of books to choose from. When it comes to buying books, and especially my chapter books many customers comment that they haven’t come across the story before. My collection includes a varied selection of picture books and chapter book fiction, and a some non-fiction titles with a science/nature or history connection too. By always making sure I include variety in my book selections I hope every child will be able to find books they love. I have been a seller of children’s books for over four years. The more I have found out about children’s books and about ways of encouraging reading for pleasure, the more I have wanted to share this with others. So that more children can find out about the fantastic variety of children’s books out there. To state the obvious you can’t choose a book you do not know exists! Having spent nearly 10 years working with young people before my children were born, and being a parent for 9 years I know that children and young people always surprise you. And many of them do care about what they read and the world we live in. Give them a ‘heart felt’ story where the characters and setting have meaning to them and they will want to read it. If you would like any suggestions on what books would suit you and your child or children and/or advise on how to get them interested in books please do not hesitate to get in touch. To browse a selection of my books please click on the catalogue button above. I have lot’s more books that are not in the catalogue, including some great SALE bargains, so please get in touch to find out more. Additional Services for Schools
In addition to the selling of great children’s books I can offer ‘chapter book workshops’, with an emphasis on KS2 (but this is flexible) to help busy staff find out about and view for themselves a range of chapter book fiction. I am also exploring the use of unique themed displays, which cut across traditional school topics and year groups to help children, their carers, and school staff think about the way different stories may be connected. Thereby making it easier for children to find their next read and to begin to identify future books they may want to read. Melissa x
