Tele refin is all done and reassembled with a fresh setup.

Nerd content: the reflection pic is gun finish, no sanding or polishing. Nice because extra-fast catalyst and a gun air cap better for reproducing factory paint car orange peel don't help. And less work to sand & polish. Nerding over.

A Tele refinish in the works. I have a little technique for making black and dark colours deeper looking than normal straight colour.
Could go straight to polish bar the usual small welts around cavities, less sanding is always good!

I'm not open to any and all refins yet but this was relatively uncomplicated so took it on.

MX-shaped machine delivered: claro walnut on limba body, ovangkol and amara ebony neck. Stainless frets.

Nice 1970s Yamaha SA700, a 335 type.

The first use of the new spray booth. First nitro coat laid on the claro walnut/limba/ovangkol build 🔥

A thing taking shape: claro walnut and limba body, the neck is amazique (aka ovangkol) with a stripey amara ebony fretboard. Stainless jumbo frets.
Simple clean and classy kind of woods, pretty good weight on it too 🔥
