**SUMMER BABY SAFETY REMINDER**⚠️☀️
Avoid Summer Stroller Danger as IRELAND to see temperatures 20°C + this weekend! 🌡️😲
Covering buggies,& strollers with a blanket to shade baby can lead to SOARING TEMPERATURES under it and possible HEATSTROKE! 🔥😥
COMPLETELY covering a stroller with even a thin blanket can create a furnace like environment! If no air is being circulated under the blanket, temperatures can rise FAST! 📈🌡️
Signs of heatstroke could include..
⛔ hot, red or dry skin
⛔ rapid pulse
⛔ restlessness or lethargy
⛔ rapid, shallow breathing
⛔ vomiting and unconsciousness
How can you help avoid heat stroke?
✅ Stroller umbrella shades are a great option for keeping baby out of direct sun, but not letting heat build up. Or a specific cover shade such as the Dooky shade which will allow air to circulate.
✅Try to keep baby in shade when outside and check to make sure that he’s staying cool during any essential car journeys.
✅Dress baby in lightweight, breathable cotton preferably, loose-fitting clothing.
✅If the temperature is especially hot, keep your baby inside if you can.
✅Give little one more fluids than usual on hotter days. You could even try breast milk ice lollies if you are breastfeeding! (always supervise)
**IMPORTANT - it's recommended all babies under 6 months should avoid direct sunlight completely! ☀️❌
Enjoy the good weather and STAY SUN SAFE! 👍
