The business was founded in 1979 and for over a quarter of a Century the company has been excelling in the design and creation of fine collectable bears. We have worked with some of the best and most creative companies in the World including Disney, Orient Express, Harrods, Victor
ia and Albert Museum and Liberty. We have designed and made bears for HM Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee celebration, HM The Queen Mother’s 80th Birthday and for Bill Clinton’s inauguration amongst others. Our workshops are situated in a small village in the heart of Kent and it is from here that we send our bears to new homes all over the World. Nothing quite says 'love, comfort, security' like a bold beautiful Teddy Bear, and that is what Canterbury Bears is all about! In 1987 we were granted the right to use the coats of arms of the City of Canterbury as our logo; this was a huge privilege. This ancient coat of arms is registered by the Garter King of Arms and is circa 11th Century. As bear specialists Canterbury has created one of the largest bear collections in the World.
