Good evening everyone I'm making progress with my stash of cases I'm making. Downing tools just now. I'll have to wait for zips to arrive for the brighter coloured cases as I've ran out but the other ones I'll continue finishing. Hopefully have something to show you tomorrow 🤞

This week is all about cases. I've been in and had a quick tidy around my studio and realised I'm getting very low on cases. So I'm doing a big lot of hem x X x

Good morning everyone! That's me back from my travels to Englandshire to see my family. Especially lovely was spending time with my grandsons. It's getting harder and harder to come back to Skye knowing it'll be a few months till I see them again. The mountains have reappeared after days of rain and wind. It's lovely to see them again. A wee video of my full to bursting studio/shed in the garden. Here all week Monday to Friday 11am to 4pm. It would be really lovely to see you if you're around ❤️❤️

That's today's bags finished. These are Robertson Tartan front panel and black tweed on the back of the bag. They are lined with corduroy and have 5 internal slip pockets. One embroidery is this stunning thistle. It is a magnificent design and looks fab on this tweed. And then we have a piece of my Celtic heart on the other. That's me now closed till Monday folks. Thanks for looking and commenting. Always always appreciated 👍

How lovely is this. This lovely family pulled up as I was about to open up for the day. A lovely family from America.
I've not seen as many folk this year up here on the hill. So it's nice to have visitors here again 💞💞

I wanted to share this with you guys. This bag here was my whole inspiration for making Harris Tweed bags. When I first arrived on Skye 14 years ago I worked at Dunvegan Castle for the first season. I worked in a wee speciality shop that sold lots of handmade goodies. This bag was made by a lady who used to live in Poolewe. I fell in love with and used it till it was almost falling apart. But a fire was born in me when I bought it as I saw how beautiful Harris Tweed could be. Now that original bag is long gone but this one is Brand new still with it's original tags, I managed to get it online. When I moved to Skye I didn't know how to used a sewing machine, I got a friend in England to show me how to thread it. Turns out I'm just a natural at it as from day one folk loved what I did. So to have been able to get this bag brand new was such a treat. The really sad thing is though the lady who made this died many years ago, a long time before her time and so it's even more special to get my hands on this. I think you might see where I got my inspiration for buttons from.....
