Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Soundkit.

Firstly, we'd like to say a huge thank you to Martyn as he begins his well-earned retirement. For over 20 years, Martyn has been at the heart of Soundkit, building trusted relationships and supporting the TV & Film location sound community with exceptional knowledge and service. We wish him every happiness in his retirement, and we hope he'll still pop in for a coffee and a chat from time to time!

The office is empty and it really is time now to say goodbye!

We'd like to say one final, heartfelt thank you to every customer, supplier and friend who has supported us over the years. We couldn't have done it without you.

From 1st August, Soundkit will be part of the Stage Sound Services group. (Stage Sound Services)

This is excellent news because Stage Sound is a large and very successful organisation based in Cardiff, with the resources to develop Soundkit and establish it as the first-call supplier to the UK location sound industry. Their building in Pontprennau houses its live sound rental and installation business, a repair and cable-making workshop, a flightcase manufacturing facility and, soon, the Soundkit showroom.

After 24 years of running Soundkit, I've decided it's time to retire, and Caitlin is also moving on to a new challenge. While that's the end of an era for us, it's the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Soundkit. I genuinely believe Stage Sound Services is the right organisation to take Soundkit forward, with the investment, facilities and expertise to build on everything Soundkit has become. I hope you'll continue to support them just as you've supported us over the years.

From August, you'll see a few new faces looking after the day-to-day running of Soundkit – Chris, Rhys and James. They'll be joined by two highly respected names in the industry, our very own, Elis Griffiths and Lyndon Jones who will also continue to work as freelance sound recordists. Their experience and passion for location sound will help ensure the same knowledgeable service continues. Our current landline number, 02920 342907, and email address, [email protected], will continue to be available.

I'd also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our customers. Whether you've been with me since my mixer-building days or discovered Soundkit more recently, thank you for your support, loyalty and friendship.

I'll still be in the office for the next few weeks before the handover, so if you're local, we’d love to see you. Whether it's to collect an order, have a chat or simply say hello (or goodbye!), please do call in or give us a call.

Thank you again for your support over the years. I've been fortunate to work with so many great people and have made some lasting friends along the way. I'm looking forward to seeing Soundkit continue to grow as part of the Stage Sound Services family.

As our new Bargain Basement turned out to be so popular, we've only gone and found more stuff to put in there!

Quite a few new products have gone live today, so get in there quickly before they're gone.

If you only want to see the new stuff, just click on the dropdown where it says "Relevance" and select "Newest". That way, you'll see all the latest products displayed at the top.

Although no harm in taking a second look at what's left from the first round — you might find some prices have dropped even more. Just saying... 😉
