This is where it all started. 🍫

Back in September 2019, we opened the doors to our original little shop and began Castle Chocolates.

A lot has changed since then.

Today, you’ll find us just up the road at 40 Fisher Street, Carlisle, CA3 8RF, with a much larger shop for our customers and a bigger production space for our growing team behind the scenes.

It’s lovely to look back at where we started every now and again, especially when it’s only a short walk from where we are now.

We’ve come a long way since September 2019, and we’re very grateful to everyone who has grown with us along the way. ❤️

Not everyone knows how our loose chocolate counter works, so we thought we’d give you a quick tour. 🍫

Simply choose the chocolates you’d like, build your own selection, and we’ll box them up for you in store.

Whether you’re picking out a few favourites for yourself or creating a gift for someone else, it gives you the freedom to choose exactly what goes into the box.

And to make it even more personal, we can also add a custom label to the box with your own message.

A box of chocolates is always a lovely gift, but adding a personal touch makes it that little bit more special.

A little Christmas update… we know it’s early! 🎄🍫

We’ve already had quite a few enquiries asking when our Christmas range will be hitting the shelves and website, so we thought we’d give you a little look at what the next few months will look like for the team.

Production has officially started on our solid chocolate Christmas products, although they’re not available to buy just yet.

Because our chocolates have a 12-week shelf life, timing is really important to us. Once we reach 10 weeks before Christmas, the team will be very busy producing all of our filled Christmas chocolates.

We want to make sure that when our Christmas range does go on sale, everything we sell will have at least two weeks of shelf life remaining after Christmas Day.

As soon as we reach that point and the range is ready, we’ll let you know right here on the page.

For now, the Christmas production has begun behind the scenes… 🎅

Something new has landed in the shop… our Liquid Shot of Chocolate 🍫

We’ve created a little mug made entirely from milk chocolate, then we fill it with a shot of liquid chocolate straight from our chocolate tap.

Drink the chocolate, eat the mug 😋.

This is a fun new one the team have been working on, and it’s available to enjoy in store between 10am and 4pm daily.

Can our chocolatiers recognise our chocolates without seeing them? 👀🍫

We blindfolded Head Chocolatier Mike and newcomer chocolatier, Alex, and put their knowledge of the Castle Chocolates menu to the test using nothing but taste.

It was a good bit of fun for the team, and a chance to see just how well they really know the chocolates they spend their days making 👀

Inspired by some of our favourite sweet treats and classic afternoon tea flavours, this collection has been a real labour of love for the team.

Our White Chocolate Malibu has become a firm favourite in the shop, and this is your chance to see how it’s brought to life.

There’s something satisfying about watching each stage come together, from the cocoa splashing to the final final product.

Take a look behind the scenes with our Head Chocolatier, Mike, as he shows how we make one of our favourites... our Milk Chocolate Baileys. 🍫

From the first splash of cocoa butter to the final finish, this chocolate is carefully crafted by hand before making its way to you.

We always enjoy sharing a little more of what happens behind the scenes, and this is another great example of the care and attention that goes into the handmade chocolate we produce.

Our New Menu Collection is now available to order online.

This has been a project the team has been working on for some time, and we’re really excited to finally share it with you.

Orders are open now, with delivery from 16th July.

If you’d like to learn more about the inspiration behind each flavour, keep an eye on our page. We’ll be sharing a video from our Chocolate, Fire & Wine evening held at the Stag Inn on the 15th July. In this video we’ll talk you through the collection and the stories behind every chocolate.
