Another lovely day at Florence Arts Centre 🌿

This morning, our 4-week throwing course focused on turning the pots created over the first two weeks, as well as adding handles — great to see everyone’s pieces really taking shape.

After lunch, Kids Club got hands-on with building height in clay, using both throwing and coil techniques. A special shoutout to Joshua, who built an impressive 30cm coil pot in just one hour 👏

See you again next Saturday for the final session 😊

hello again 👋

i didn’t disappear for any big reason… just didn’t have much to say for a while, and that felt okay.

sometimes the quiet is the point.

my hands have still been making though — so thank you to everyone who’s been keeping me busy with your orders, and thank you for your patience. handmade means it’s a little slower, but it’s always made with care.

anyway, i’m back — no big announcement, no grand return. just here again.

Working with porcelain teaches you a different kind of patience — the slow, quiet kind that asks you to trust the process without rushing it.

These little dishes and plates are such a good reminder of that. Every texture, every glaze, every tiny decision shows up in the final piece. Porcelain doesn’t let you fake calm… it forces you into it.

Still figuring it out one plate at a time.

Some very similar plates will be available to buy next weekend at Christmas Market ❤️

Emptying the kiln is its own ritual. You wait, not just for the temperature to drop, but for the right moment — when the inside is cool enough to reveal what the fire decided to do. There’s anticipation in that pause. Will the forms survive? Will the glaze break beautifully or behave unexpectedly? It’s equal parts excitement and vulnerability.

Each kiln opening is a quiet reminder: some of the best results come only after waiting, after letting time and heat do their work.

Patience isn’t just a virtue in ceramics — it’s the entire process.

Studio moments: trimming the base and trying not to bump the whole thing over 😅

These little turquoise beauties make me so happy 💙
I love how the texture came out on each one — similar, but all with their own quirks.
Slowly growing this collection, one plate at a time, and honestly… it never gets old.

Thanks for being here and cheering on the small, handmade moments
