Today is Results Day in Scotland, and I know there will be a whole mix of emotions.

Some of you will be celebrating. Some of you will feel relieved. And some of you might be looking at your results wondering, “What now?”

If that’s you, I want to share a little of my story…

I left school and got a YTS placement, like an apprenticeship, as an office junior. It wasn’t glamorous, and I certainly didn’t have my whole life mapped out.

From there, I hit a permanent position, gained more experience and more qualifications. I then started working in housing. I began on reception and, through hard work, determination and saying yes to opportunities, I worked my way up the ladder.

Years later, I took the biggest leap of all and started my own business. It became something I was incredibly proud of, and through that journey I had the privilege of supporting thousands of women. Today, I’ve started another exciting chapter in a career I genuinely love, helping others gain qualifications.

Looking back, none of those opportunities were decided by the grades I got at school.

What shaped my journey was my willingness to keep learning, work hard, adapt when life changed and believe that there was always another opportunity around the corner.

So if today’s results aren’t what you hoped for, please don’t let them define you.

They are one moment in your life, not your whole story.

There are so many different paths to success, and sometimes the route you never planned becomes the one you’re most grateful for.

To everyone collecting their results today, whatever is written on that piece of paper, remember this:

Your grades measure how you performed in a set of exams. They do not measure your kindness, your resilience, your potential or the incredible person you can become.

Good luck to everyone today. Your future is still yours to write.

I’d love to hear from others too… did your exam results determine where you ended up, or did life have a different plan?

You don't need to lose two stone.

You don't need to change careers.

You don't need to start a business.

You just need to make yourself a priority again!

I wish 2024 me could have seen just how much would change!

1 sleep to go until the August A to Z Activity Challenge starts.

Looking forward to this.

Collect all the letters of the alphabet - activity or place/street/venue names all counts.

Each morning you'll get a prompt to share your plan for the day.

Share your pics of town/street/venue names or you doing the activity and the letter you're claiming.

Once 'evidence' is submitted, I'll tick off the corresponding letter on my trusty spreadsheet!

You can only claim one letter per activity.

So if you Cycle round Strathclyde Park. This could count for C or S, not both.

Comment 'A to Z' if you'd like added to the Challenge group.

Have a fab Friday!

Dear Universe...

At the end of every month (or sometimes on the first day of a new one), I sit down and write a letter.

I start with "Dear Universe...", but your letter could be addressed to whoever or whatever feels right for you—God, the Lord Almighty, Mother Nature, your higher power, your future self, or simply the universe itself.

In my letter, I spend time reflecting on the month that's just passed. I write with gratitude for the moments, lessons and opportunities I've experienced, even the difficult ones. Then I write about the month ahead—what I hope for, where I need guidance, what I'm working towards, and the areas where I'd love a little extra support.

I've been doing this consistently for over a year now (and on and off for around two years), and it's become one of my favourite monthly rituals.

For me, it's less about wishing for things to magically happen and more about the power of intention. There's something incredibly powerful about putting your hopes, goals and dreams into words. Then, at the end of the month, I look back at my letter and I'm often amazed by how many of those intentions came to life—sometimes exactly as I'd imagined, and sometimes in ways I never expected.

These letters are deeply personal, and while I occasionally share little snippets with friends, they're mostly just for me. They're a reminder to pause, reflect, be grateful, and step into a new month with purpose.

Give it a go and let me know how you get on!
