Kawasaki H2 Dry Sump. I have been working towards this for nearly a year now but with other commitments and things to do it’s taken some time. With kind advice from Steve Broughton and then applying the new knowledge to our own design and application we have reached a final design and product.
This could not have been possible without the expertise provided by OLLE Precision Engineering. Thanks for the thought, experience and skills. Also part of this project were Nova Racing who have allowed us to utilise their tried and tested scavenge pump from the Hayabusa dry sump kit.
We are also pairing this dry sump with Extreme Creations Uprated oil pump gear given 25 - 30% more pressure.
Finally thanks to SBD Motorsport Ltd for allowing us to use the Hayabusa kit filters.
It was important to me to not reinvent the wheel so to speak and with layouts being similar using the same design characteristics as the Hayabusa drysump kits available critical. Only the input or oil scavenge puppy shaft has been adjusted. The two piece design allowed for much simpler machine tool availability and production. There is no need to take these apart for servicing in the future but if necessary they can be.
You will also see the OE oil cooler has been blanked off and a simple out and in return plate housing has been manufactured. We are using an oil cooler at the front of the Caterham 7. If you wish to continue to use thebOE cooler you can do so.
This kit will be installed for testing this week. I see no reason to expect any issues given the simple design.
The superior finish you can see on the parts is provided by Powdercoating - vapDaytuner Tuning Centre, dynojet, rolling road dynometer testing, servicingwhich produces 290bhp from its small 1000cc supercharged engine. All mapped by Daytuner Tuning Centre, dynojet, rolling road dynometer testing, servicing.
Looking forward to testing.
This kit will be available for sale once tested.
