Making my soap is only a small part of what has to be done in order to sell it to you. Apart from labelling and selling it, there is so much more going on behind the scenes.

Each soap recipe has to be licensed and tested for safety before it is ready to sell. A licence for each different product has to be purchased sometimes reaching up to 3 figures! Each product made has to have ingredient lists by law on labelling. Ingredients, labels and other relative information from each licenced product has to be traceable and uploaded to a gov site for trading standards and health & safety use. Soap comes under the category of cosmetics. So manufacturing records with traceable ingredient records have to be kept with correlating batch numbers.

Creating labels can be very time consuming. Costing your product fairly is important too. It is not a cheap hobby by any means.

So homemade soap may appear expensive to some, but a lot of hard work and expense has gone into it, even before purchasing the ingredients, which is costly when bought in bulk.

I've had the best news this week. I am C free, I am a survivor of that 'C' word that I cannot even say. I now get the chance to start living my life again. I still have a lot of healing to do, and my body still has a lot of repairing and healing to go through. But I am FREE! Thank you NHS, you certainly aren't broken, you are truly amazing 🩷

I haven't posted to Chez Nouveau for a little while. My life took an unexpected turn at the end of May and took me on a different journey.

In the space of one month from a simple routine visit to a screening unit at Morrison's car park, to being called into the Breast Centre Wales, biopsies, results, diagnosis & surgery. All over within one month. That is a pretty good shout out to the NHS and all praise goes to them from me.

The picture. No, that isnt me. It's an Ai generated picture from a photo of my face. It's how I see myself from within, the me I feel is present. I havent adapted my relationship with the mirror yet, but I will get there eventually.

The cushion, is the most heart felt gift to me from the Hospital's breast cancer unit. Made by the local WI (women's institute). Its purpose, is to place the top of the cushion under your arm in order to keep the Weight of your arm from your wound, in order to heal. So much love ❤️

This change in my life has not weakened me, it has only made me stronger. I am already thinking of ways that I can repay and support the community that has helped me through.

I will be back to posting on chez nouveau again soon, maybe a slight change in my products too. Time will tell.
