Early 20th century elm stool, or side table, the top a figured elm board, adzed to the sides. Stands upon square tapered legs united by stretchers of H form. Note the construction of the leg tenon, the square leg is fitted into a round tenon joint through the top and pegged, this makes for both a visually appealing and strong joint.

H: 20" (51cm), W: 19.5" (49.5cm), D: 14.5" (37cm).

A 17th century walnut and boxwood shaving mirror or looking glass
The rectangular plate within a moulded frame, on a baluster stem and turned base. The angle of the glass can be adjusted by means of a hinged joint and secured with a brass nut, the glass also rotates on the vertical column. The original mirror plate is uniformly foxed.
English, circa 1660-1690

An Anglo-Indian rosewood stool with a square button upholstered top to cockbeaded edge over rails of serpentine form that are boldly carved with ‘C’ and ‘S’ scrolls and united by shell carving. Stands upon cabriole legs with shell and acanthus carving and scroll feet.
Circa 1830-1850

A Georgian elm dough bin
The rectangular dough bin is of boarded tapered form with a removable lid to void interior. Stands on chamfered legs united by a serpentine frieze. All of good colour and patination.
English, circa 1780-1830

A sycamore pole-lathe turned dairy bowl with incised turning marks to base. Spoon made from a single piece of sycamore. Bowls such as this were turned using freshly sawn sycamore, rather than seasoned and hardened wood, chosen as it was said not to taint the food and to have antibacterial qualities.
English or Welsh, circa 1800-1830
