Gowans is a long-established family-run department store, with branches in Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright. Our departments are diverse and well-stocked, carrying extensive ranges in men’s and women’s fashions. In Castle Douglas we also have floorcovering and bed departments, and a household textile and dress fabric shop. Our floorcovering department aims to provide breadth of choice in carpets,

vinyls and rugs, whilst our standard stock of beds is vast and consists of many styles and types of bed frames, divan beds, folding and electrical beds. Our household textiles shop carries a huge range of pillows, duvets, duvet covers, percale sheets and towels, and also incorporates a dress fabric and haberdashery section with impressive and varied stock. We offer a 'measure, estimate and fit' curtain and blind service too!
