Back up from my mum’s in Durham where I’ve been for a few days💕
Amazed with the change in the garden with lots of sunshine 👏 mixed with plenty of rain previously 🌞
Everything’s greened up & the flowers are blooming.
Thought I’d have a quiet sit in the garden after the long drive to relax. Starlings have fledged while I’ve been away not so relaxing after all 🤣🙈(sound on)

Hope everyone’s enjoyed the bank holiday weekend what a difference up here to the last couple of weeks 🌞💕
Warmed up & the sun has come out at last so the boys are working all hours to get the silage done at the various farms. I’ve taken a break from the painting & spent most of time in the garden. At last things are beginning to show some colour & flourish 🍃
Two of our trees have blossomed beautifully both were bought from the clearance section at Mauchline garden centre many years ago ( it’s now a housing estate)
They were sickly looking specimens with a clearance price of 2 for £10 & ended up being planted to fill gaps in hedges 🙈
We should have had more faith 🤣 we definitely wouldn’t have placed them where they are if we’d realise how beautiful they’d eventually become 😍

The new fencing & gates are up at last at South Logan so out went some of the young heifers with the bull. The usual run around the outskirts to celebrate
Unlike sheep, who usually run away cows are very curious so headed straight for me at the gate. Not sure I’d have stood there with the old gates hanging on with bailer twine 😳 in fact I definitely wouldn’t have 🤣
Passed me & then along to Ben for a few head scratches including the new bull. Good to get them used to the boys for when they need in amongst them.
Heavy rain a lot of this week but the sun came out about 5pm 👏& the forecast is to dry up the next few days🤞🏻happy days
🌞

Thank you for all your warm wishes on getting to our 30th wedding anniversary. Very surprised & grateful for so many likes & comments . I did try & reply to each comment but didn’t manage everyone but we both read them all so a very big thank you 💕
Today we had afternoon tea in the glasshouse at Glenapp Castle & a wander around the gardens between the showers. A lovely day 😍

On this date 30 years ago we got married down at St George’s church in Tynemouth
Billy did the milking up here in Scotland that morning then drove 160 miles to get there for a 3pm service!
That should have been the first clue to the work life balance being married to a dairy farmer 🤣.
I’d say that hasn’t changed much in those 30 years, in fact I think he works longer hours than ever now with a 4.00am start 7 days a week
I have started pointing out that we’re both at an age (old) when there needs to be a better work life balance (it’s a work in progress)
What hasn’t changed is that the kilt he’s wearing in these photos, the most recent being last September, is exactly the one he wore on our wedding day 😳
Sadly in my case I wouldn’t be able to get my dress past my knees these days 🤷‍♀️🙈
He’s taking half a day off this week (working around the other commitments) so we can go out for afternoon tea at Glenapp Caste & for the first time in years I’ve got a card to celebrate 👏🥳
Slow but hopefully steady progress on the making more time plan this was our first dance music all those years ago 😉💕
Happy Anniversary hubby 😘 🫶🏻xx

After a changeable April we’ve had some drier weather so the ground at last has dried up enough for us to get the bull & heifers out at South Logan. The cows here are always the last to go out because it’s the wettest of the farms.
Just some fencing to get finished & they’ll be ready to go out.
Good for them as well as us & one less job of feeding for the boys to do. The garden is slowly greening up still not many flowers but everything is definitely enjoying the sun when it shines. 🌷🍃🍀
