Not sure if this birthday is the right one to pop up photos of younger days or if it’s just when you get to a certain age you start reminiscing so I decided to pull up some old photos & went down a rabbit hole as you do 😉
Can’t believe I’m so old I remember when my mum & dad were 40 I thought that was ancient 😂 little did I know
Looking back photos with my twin sister Jan, yes we were in a time when we always dressed identically. Graduating as a teacher in the 80’s the era of Charlie’s Angels & hairspray when you could lift up the entire section of one side of your hair in one go 🤦🏽♀️. Teaching in North Shields, momento a school photo in the customary brown & gold mount, then a year in Spokane Washington State USA on a Fulbright Teacher Exchange scholarship.
Changing to Northumbria Police, then a move to Scotland (when you marry a farmer you go where the farm is 🐄)
Scottish police law is different so I returned to teaching briefly & then a garden design course at Auchincruive when it was still an agricultural collage. Opened a plant nursery at home selling seeds to plant for a florist at your back door.
Appeared on the Beechgrove Garden 🪴(proud of that now …. it’s an age thing) & then 6 years with my sewing & knitting shop in Newmarket Street Ayr Street.
So here I am having had one son Ben, who can still sleep anywhere like his dad (needs to get himself a girlfriend 😉), two dogs Max & now Ted living on a farm & loving my last throw of the creative dice slowly (age thing) forging my path to be an artist.
I’ve been very lucky to have had so many life experiences 💕 In 20 Years time when I’m not on Facebook 🤞🏻it’ll be nice to look back at these photo memories.
Age doesn’t come without its issues but hoping that hubby Billy, whose even older than I am, starts to realise that 4am starts really long days 7 days a week is too much & you’ve more than earned a work life balance when we get to this age 🫶🏻🙏
Happy birthday sis 🎉🎂🥂
