On a day like today, you really need to stay hydrated - fact. Bottled water is around 900 times more carbon intensive than tap water - also fact. So, don't leave home today without your reusable bottle. You can refill it for free at lots of shops and cafes, etc. (download the REFILL app to find out where or look for the logo in shop windows). However, staying hydrated is your priority so if you do get caught short, make sure you recycle your bottle responsibly. Stay cool, stay hydrated and don't stop caring about the environment because it's a bit hotter than normal.

If you're going to go for 'Easy Swap No. 7' and buy some good old-fashioned soap, why not treat yourself to a handmade, glass dish? You can even design your own! The talented Marie at Fired Works in Chalfont St Peter can make all your soap dish dreams come true. Find her on the internet or, better still, go and visit her lovely shop. You can even drop your empty bottles off for us to collect and fill for you while you do! And Marie plants a tree for every order - everyone's a winner! :)

During lockdown we did a bit of shopping for a few local people who couldn't get out. One of the chaps bought a LOT of disposable razors, which got us thinking... and researching. Dan finally decided on these Rugged Nature safety razors. The blades are cheap and recyclable and the razor itself is a thing of beauty with its hand-turned rosewood handle. it won't be long before you are saving money on your razor shop.

We are definitely up for celebrating World Chocolate Day today! There is so much amazing fairtrade chocolate to choose from. Our current favourite is the Coop's 85%... people say you can't eat more than a square of dark chocolate but evidence in our home would suggest otherwise. When you buy fairtrade chocolate, not only do farmers get a guaranteed fair wage for their labour, but as Respect for the Environment is one of the 10 principles of Fair Trade, it's a win for the planet as well as for the farmers and us! What's your current favourite?

This one is a no brainer. Instead of buying spray bottles that just get thrown away, you can buy these pods, pop them in your empty spray bottle, add some warm water, give it a shake and you're ready to go! We have the anti-bac in stock and it smells amazing! It's also not toxic to the environment like so many cleaners.

SESI is the family-run business we use to supply all our washing up liquid, laundry liquid and fabric conditioner. They run a totally closed loop system, which means all the containers are reused. We have saved more than 5000 plastic bottles through SESI alone. Their washing up liquid is great - one swap to try in July maybe? If you're local to us, we'll collect your bottles, fill them and return them filled.

Like your coffee on the go? No problem. There are literally hundreds of lovely reusable coffee cups out there, specially designed to keep your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks cold. So, let's stop contributing to the 2.5 billion disposable coffee cups that end up in landfill here in the UK each year. Some environmentally minded cafes even offer a discount if you bring your own cup - winner!
