Our last day is done...

The Chard Bookshop has officially closed its doors, FOR THE VERY LAST TIME! 🥺📚

It was a solemn last month saying goodbye to you all - so much support and kindness. Our deepest thanks to the beloved bookbugs, for such an enjoyable and memorable 6 years! 🥰⭐️

From all of us here at the dweeby Bookshop team, it was truly a pleasure to serve you. 💖

Dear valued bookbugs...

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of the Chard Bookshop, at the end of this January. As some of you may already know, it's become an increasing struggle to support the business and keep it going for the community, even with our best efforts. 📚🥺🛍️

Despite the various challenges of running an independent bookshop, we're incredibly proud of how long we've lasted. We've had the most amazing last 6 years, providing Chard with it's book needs and want to say a massive thank you to those who showed their unwavering support and love for books - you're all the reason we've stayed open this far! 🙏😇

The encouragement of the Chard community has meant the world to us, and we are deeply thankful for every visit, every purchase, and every kind word shared. We will be running reduced opening hours in January with our shop open on FRIDAY & SATURDAYS ONLY. Stay tuned for some enormous discounts in-store while we focus on reducing our stock and we hope to see you before we close our shop door for the last time too! 🤗✨

Hello, book lovers. It's a snowy, magical day today. Our poor space heaters are working overtime! ❄️ ☃️🌨️

Chard Bookshop *is* still open until 1:30pm today. If you are venturing out, please wrap up warmly and take extra care walking down Pig Lane. And maybe we'll see you in scarves, gloves and skis soon?! 🛷⛷️🏂

We were so pleased to host such a delightful group of Children in our bookshop yesterday. They had a lot of fun picking out new books for their school (and eating lots of sweets!)🤍

A wonderful day seeing young people’s passion for books. Long may it continue! 📚
