Firstly, may I congratulate Chris Vanair VanRaemdonck on his win.
Well, that was an eventful three days for Team Trickbits and the YZ-W91R. Jose Zayas was not a happy camper when we talked the following day. That said, ONS round 2 was not all bad. We set the fastest qualifying time in round three. Round one of the A1main, and a loose screw did for the YZ-W91R🙈. Jose was amazed that he even finished in second place… In A2 main, he took a clear win; we desperately needed a three-legged A final for a conclusive decider. But these are the rules, and we must be happy with what Jose achieved: -
The YZ-W91R set the fastest qualifying time for the class at 11/5:07.33, and finished with a P2 & P1 in the finals for second overall, not so terrible, but.....
This is only the YZ-W91R second race, and the first outing on dirt. Jose has accumulated a significant amount of information, and that will be put to good use in upcoming races. Jose is a highly rated development driver. Just look at his and Dan McDade Losi xx² and XXT project for starter💥 We talk most weeks. His opening line will normally start with ‘I have had this idea’, ‘or why did you do that?’. Rest assured. JZ will be instrumental in developing the YZ-W91R for customers in the USA. Please reach out to either of us if you would like to know more about the RC Trickbit vintage Yokomos.
Now, here is the real kicker for the competition: we were running the YZ-W91R with box standard gear diffs😱. Next time out, it will be competing with the Trickbits large diameter spring steel racing ball diffs. These are manufactured in the UK and have a race-proven pedigree as the design is lifted directly from our race-winning YZ10R-25
Until next time💪
