Still time to sow biennials for colour next year. Here are Foxgloves, Honesty, Wallflowers etc and some of next year's perennials stock.
The glasshouse is keeping cool with doors open and shading paint.
Seeds, as always, sown in Sylvagrow peat free and topped with vermiculite🌱

Well that certainly was a lovely Combe Di**le sort of few days off. With a dog and my new boots, 35 miles of coastal path covered in 2 days.
Bude to Port Issac.
Stunning views, 2 trigs, beautiful scenery, lots of cows, clouds of butterflies and far too many steps!

Then back in time for some Combe St Nicholas Annual show prep. This Saturday 1st August 2- 4pm at the Church. Join us for a fun afternoon 😊

Best garlic storage/ preserving ideas please 🙏
Yes, I can hang them or box them using soft necks first and hard necks (with better Keeping ability) last. But they are getting a bit ropey by the time the next crop is ready.
I've got masses of them and they are tiny (no thanks to a lot of rust this year!)
I'd love to hear ideas from people who have actually tried freezing or jaring 🤞😊

"How many potatoes will I get from 1 potato?" I am often asked this question.
As this proves, you never really know until you put the fork in.
Today I am digging up the rest of the first earlies. The skins have almost set already, but I will leave them on the soil for a few hours to really set. Then store in paper bags in the dark and hopefully somewhere cool.

Here I have Casablanca, Foremost, kestrel, lady Christl and Rocket.
