One fencing project can ask very different things of a post. A boundary fence, livestock enclosure, paddock, straining point and tree stake will not necessarily need the same diameter, finish or treatment—so choosing the right timber matters.

W Burton & Sons stocks:

• Smooth, uniform machine-round posts for a consistent finish
• Machine-round diameters from 50mm to 200mm across the range
• Selected UC4 ground-contact posts with a stated 15-year service life
• Peeled and Cundy posts for practical, cost-effective agricultural fencing
• Treated strainer posts for corners, ends and tension points
• Half-round rails for traditional post-and-rail fencing
• Round jump poles and options for equestrian projects
• Green-treated and creosoted products in selected sizes

Suitable for livestock and paddock fencing, boundaries, post-and-rail installations, tree planting, equestrian projects and general landscaping.

Building a new deck or replacing a few boards? We have a huge range of both timber and composite decking in stock, plus the essentials to get the job finished.
Our treated timber range includes:
- Standard: 32 × 125 mm (27 × 120 mm finished), in 3.6 m and 4.8 m lengths.
- Premium: 38 × 125 mm (34 × 120 mm finished), in 4.2 m lengths.
- Weathered decking boards: 32 × 150 mm (approximately 27 × 145 mm finished), in 3.0 m, 3.3 m, 4.5 m, 4.8 m and 5.4 m lengths. Appearance and finished size can vary between boards.
We also stock composite decking, deck tape, decking screws, oils and treatments — including Osmo and Cuprinol.
