Playing board games since the sixties
Martin’s experience with board games probably began with a copy of Cluedo, Monopoly, Totopoly or Waddingtons Formula 1 back in the late 60s. Even when school, work, and women intervened, an interest in traditional family games and pastimes has always been there. Between 2005 and 2011 this store was mainly focused on Scalextric model motor racing, and up to 2008 there was an accompanying public Scalextric track here in Cheddar. When general interest in Scalextric began to wane, focus shifted to the world of board games which were undergoing a revival at the time.
Although we don’t have a physical ship you can browse, we do run regular local games nights to introduce new people to the world of board games, and as new games are released we try to pick out the ones with most appeal for casual and family gamers, with a few of the more epic titles thrown in as well.
