Great to be back behind the desk for When Rivers Meet at Colchester Arts Centre last night! This is a really special Tour for a bunch of reasons, it’s the first one back in 7 months since the arrival of Baby Bobby, and Also the new Trio format gives the band’s sound a fresh, stripped back energy.

Also for me this will be the first full Tour that I have completely booked for the band in addition to my usual Tour Manager and Sound duties, so it’s certainly been keeping me busy! Fantastic feeling when it all comes together though! Can’t wait for Tunbridge Wells tonight!

The Ricky Lee Band have recently hit the UK scene delivering original blues-rock as a powerhouse Trio.

Ricky’s musical journey began at the age of nine after moving with his family to Tenerife in the Canary Islands when his Dad moved abroad to follow his musical career. He spent his early years on stage performing as a vocalist, opening shows for his father, appearing in tribute productions, and singing alongside his older brother as a duo.
His path changed at twelve when he discovered a family video of his uncle playing blues-rock guitar. Inspired by the energy and emotion of the music, Ricky picked up the guitar and quickly became captivated by the blues. He saved his earnings from live performances to buy his first guitar and immersed himself in the records of artists such as B.B. King, Gary Moore, Freddie King, ZZ Top, and Free.

Returning to the UK at sixteen, Ricky built on those years of experience by performing with bands across a wide range of genres, developing his musicianship and stagecraft whilst writing original material to develop his dream band.

That vision became reality when he joined forces with drummer Scott Little and bassist Matt Waller. Together, they formed The Ricky Lee Band, and are now hitting venues with thier powerful original blues-rock that is backed by years of live experience."

Down to Somerset for a gig with a Tribute band today. Can you guess who? Feels like I'm half a world away, and some might say they are true rock and roll stars. Whatever happens, I hope they'll stand by me if I make a mistake, and don't look back in anger...

I've been a bit rubbish at FB updates recently. I'm not on Tour for a little while but busy booking and organising two tours later in the year! However in between I've also been beavering away setting up and fixing guitars!

Vintage V96 - pot replacements and install series/parallel switch, fret level, polish, resting and setup

Epiphone Les Paul Special - locking tuner upgrade

Epiphone SG - restring, fret polish, setup and pot cleaning/lubrication

Yamaha RGX - setup, restring, fret polish and jack plate replacement, replace missing strap buttons, remove stickers, setup tremolo

Fender USA Strat - restring, setup and fret polish

Fender USA Pro II Strat - strap button repairs, setup and restring

Fender USA Telecaster - setup, restring, fret polish, clean/lube pots

Glarry 5 string bass setup and upgrades - Wilkinson tuners, new nut, new pickups, cavity shielding, install active EQ, fret level and polish (with more to follow!)
