Nothing means more to me than hearing this back from a family.

Parents come in nervous about how their baby will cope, and leave with a piece they'll treasure for the rest of their lives. That's genuinely why I do this.

If you've had a casting done with me, I'd love it if you shared your experience in the comments or tagged me in your photos.

If you're a grandparent, auntie, uncle, or friend trying to find something that isn't another outfit they'll grow out of in six weeks, a First Treasures voucher might be the one.

Vouchers come in £10, £25 and £50, and can be combined to make up whatever amount you'd like to gift. They land by email within 48 hours and are valid for 12 months, so there's no rush on the recipient's end either.

It's a gift that means something now and means even more in twenty years.

Vouchers linked in bio.

The questions I get asked every single week:

Does it hurt? Not at all, it's lukewarm rather than cold, so there's no shock for little ones, and that's part of why it sets so quickly. The moulding solution is alginate, the same material used for dental moulds, and it's completely safe on even the most delicate newborn skin.

Is it messy? It can be for little hands and feet, so I always suggest bringing your little one in clothes you don't mind getting a bit of solution on.

How long does the appointment take? Usually 20-45 minutes, including time to settle in, explain the process, and look through frame and finish options.

I’d love you to share your experience of a casting in comments below.

Wondering what age is best for a casting?

The honest answer? There isn't a wrong age. I've cast hands and feet from just hours old right up to over 100 years old, so there's no window you can miss.

Newborns give you those impossibly tiny fingers and toes. Around 6-12 months you tend to get gorgeous chubby little hands. Toddlers can hold a pose long enough for a full family set, hand in hand in hand.

If you're not sure what stage to book, send me a message and I'll help you pick the right moment.

Right now it's 10% off all castings, ending 1st September, so there's never been a better time.

This is what it’s all about.

A moment, held onto forever, tucked in a frame on the wall, long after the babygrow’s been packed away and the shoes have gone up three sizes.

I started First Treasures back in 2013 after having my own first child, and I’ve been lucky enough to create over 9,000 of these for families across Essex since. Every single one still means something to me.

This summer, get 20% off any casting booked before 1st September. Prices start from £90 unframed, £145 framed.

Link in bio if you’d like to book your little one in, spaces do fill up quickly over the school holidays.

If your camera roll is full of baby photos, this one's for you.

Most of us have thousands of photos on our phones.

But how many do we actually look at?

A keepsake is different.

It's something you walk past every day.

Something visitors notice.

Something your child will eventually look at and say:

"Was I really that small?"

If you've been considering a hand and foot cast, family cast or memorial keepsake, I'd love to help.

I'm based in Great Dunmow and work with families across Essex.

Send me a message and I'll happily answer any questions.

I wonder how many times this mum kissed these little feet before they ended up in a frame.

One of the things I love most about my job is that every cast tells a story.

When I look at this frame, I don't just see handprints and footprints.

I see a mum who was probably running on very little sleep.

I see feeds in the middle of the night.

First smiles.

First giggles.

Tiny outfits that were outgrown far too quickly.

The funny thing is, when you're living through those days, they can feel endless.

But then you blink.

And they're no longer a baby.

That's why I do what I do.

Because whilst we can't stop time, we can hold onto a little piece of it.

And years from now, this family won't just see a cast.

They'll remember exactly how it felt when those hands and feet were this tiny.

If you're looking at your little one today and wondering where the time is going, give this post a ❤️.

What age is best for baby casts?

This is one of the questions I'm asked most often.

The honest answer?

There isn't really a wrong age.

Newborns are perfect if you want to capture just how tiny they were.

Babies around 6-12 months often have those gorgeous chunky hands and feet.

Toddlers can be lovely because their little personalities are starting to shine through.

The biggest regret I hear?

"I wish I'd done it sooner."

If you've been thinking about having a keepsake created, this is your sign to stop putting it off.

Drop me a message if you'd like information on current availability.
