Stumbled upon a little bit of magic on my walk home 🍄✨
Grey oyster mushrooms thriving on a cut horse chestnut log — just 100 meters from a big supermarket. Nature really said “you don’t have to go far”.

A quiet reminder that wild abundance exists even in the most ordinary places, if you slow down enough to notice 🌿👀

Foraging is about choosing what nourishes you - So is life.

Pay attention to what gives energy — and what quietly takes it.

This is what we all need.

Less scrolling.
Less news.
More nature.

Reconnecting with the real world has been the best reminder that balance isn’t found in headlines — it’s found in presence. 🌱

I grew up knowing elfcups as brilliant scarlet flashes on damp winter woodlands in the UK.
Then Costa Rica quietly rewrote that idea.

Here, cup fungi glow in pink, orange, salmon, and even green — rising from rotting logs on the rainforest floor.
They’re not the same genus as the red elfcups back home, but they share the same whimsical shape and forest magic.

It’s a small reminder of how much beauty we miss when we assume nature only has one version of a thing.
Travel far enough, look closely enough, and even the familiar becomes wonderfully strange.

Not all cup fungi are red 💗🧡💚

🍄 Plums and Custard Mushroom 🍮

Found this little beauty during a walk in the woods here in the UK! It’s called Plums and Custard — and the name fits so well. The top is a deep plum colour, while underneath it has yellow gills that look like custard.

It usually grows on rotting pine stumps and fallen trunks, especially in mossy, shaded woodland. Not one to eat, but definitely one to stop and admire.

Nature really has the best colour combos sometimes 🌲💜💛

Stumbled upon a beautiful surprise while hiking the Cotswolds Way — a Dryad’s Saddle mushroom!

It was tucked away a bit. Nature always rewards a curious eye on the trail; this unique find made my walk even more memorable.
