Last week I had the absolute honour of not only attending the most gorgeous wedding (in all senses) but supplying the flowers. It was such a heartfelt, authentic and beautiful day, it still brings a tear to my eye. It really doesn’t get any better than being an intrinsic part of someone’s happiest day. Richard and Callum I love you from the bottom of my heart. I am so happy for you both. 🌈🩷

How are we halfway through the flower season already?

You see the finished bouquet, but not everything that goes into making sure there are fresh, seasonal flowers available from March right through to October.

While I’m harvesting this week’s flowers, I’m also sowing and planning for next year’s season. Some of the flowers I’ll be cutting in spring 2027 have already been sown. Others are still being planned, with seed orders, crop plans and bed rotations already underway.

At the same time there’s the constant watering (god damn you heatwave) weeding, feeding, staking, succession sowing, planting, harvesting and conditioning, every week bringing something new into flower while something else finishes.

It’s a constant cycle, and one of the things I love most about growing flowers. The garden is always moving forward, always changing with the seasons.

Thank you to everyone who chooses locally grown flowers and supports Little Devon Flower Garden. Every bouquet really does represent months of care before it ever reaches your hands. It’s a year round love affair 🤍

What a start to the season, we are off!

Juicy sunset colours, anemones, crazy tall tulips, ruffled ranunculus, delicate scented narcissi and now the stocks have been leaving the shed over the last few weeks. Spring flowers are genuinely expensive to grow, the bulb and corm costs don’t really stack up commercially for a small grower, but I would not be without them. Customers are desperate for them after a long winter, and honestly, so am I. Four to five months of nursing them through the cold makes that first cut feel like a proper payoff. So exciting.

British flowers. Pesticide free, naturally beautiful.

Worth it every time.

Never show up empty handed! I’ll be making up pretty Easter posies, perfect for table or for grifting if you’re hosting friends and family. Freshly pulled/cut spring flowers.
