Hi, I’m Nikki! 👋📚

I’ve had a few new faces around here recently, so I thought it was time to reintroduce myself - and say hello to any old friends who’ve been here for a while too! 🥰

I’m Nikki, independent Usborne Partner and owner of The Well Read Moose 🫎📚

I’m mum to my 2¾-year-old daughter, aka Mini-Moose, who LOVES books (she’s definitely in the right family! 😂). She also loves snacks, cuddly toys, the park and gymnastics!

I’ve been a primary school teacher for nearly 20 years (I know… I don’t look that old, thank you kindly 🤣) and after Mini-Moose was born, I reduced my teaching hours and started my Usborne business.

And I absolutely LOVE it! ❤️

You’ll usually find me taking my little bookshop to baby and toddler groups, franchises and local fairs, or helping schools and nurseries raise money and earn free books through sponsored reading events.

I love helping children discover books they’ll love - and helping families, schools and nurseries build their bookshelves along the way. 📚🥰

So whether you’re brand new here or you’ve been following along for ages, I’m so glad you’re here! You’re very welcome at The Well Read Moose. 🫎

🥂 Happy 1st Usborne Birthday to my wonderful teamie, Amy! 🥂📚❤️

I honestly don’t think I could be any prouder of you and everything you’ve achieved in your first year.

This is what Amy had to say about her first year:

“Three Look for a Books, Christmas, three Ready, Steady, Reads and multiple stalls, all whilst juggling 3 children under 5. I joined when my youngest was 6 weeks old. I wanted something for me whilst earning money to take them on day trips and little treats in the holidays. My biggest highlight was seeing the excitement on the infant school’s staff when they received their £2,800 of books, closely followed by children finding, reading and rehiding books in parks. None of this would have been possible without my supportive mentor Nikki, and the Harmonia Hub and Athena. Thank you for all your support and help this year. ❤️”

Amy, I’m so incredibly proud of everything you’ve done this year. 🥹

It has been an absolute pleasure to have you on my team and to watch you grow from those first book stalls into someone who is now supporting schools and nurseries, making such a difference to children, and mentoring your own team.

Seeing you grow in confidence, develop your skills and realise just how much you’re capable of has been one of the loveliest parts of being your mentor. ❤️

And I’m SO excited to see you take the next step and become a Team Leader. You truly deserve it, and I couldn’t be happier to be cheering you on every step of the way! 🥂

Here’s to everything year two has in store for you — I have a feeling it’s going to be a very exciting one! 📚✨

What a lovely afternoon at the Hartbeeps 15th birthday party! 🎉📚💕

I’ve had such a lovely time today, and it was extra special because my Mini-Moose got to come along too. She had a brilliant time joining in with the Happy House party while I got to do one of my favourite things - helping children find books they’ll love! 🥰📚

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by my stall, had a browse, chatted to me and, of course, bought some books. I really hope your little ones love their new reads! ❤️

I honestly never get bored of watching children choose books. Whether they know exactly what they want or need a little help finding something that catches their eye, I just love being able to help them discover their next favourite. 🥰
