Some crystals arrive with a bit of fanfare.

Others just quietly become part of life.

They end up beside the bed, in a pocket, on the desk, or living in the bottom of a handbag for far longer than anyone intended.

And somehow, without us really noticing when it happened, they become familiar.

Almost like an old friend.

wow that is our summer festival done for 2026 💜
There have been difficult bits, wonderful bits, and thousands of tiny moments in between.

People coming back to show me crystals they bought years ago and Children carefully choosing a first stone.
Familiar faces, someone falling unexpectedly in love with something they had never heard of before.

Tomorrow we change gears and Maddogg Designs is heading off-grid till 25th September

I'm not disappearing completely. You’ll still get little glimpses from us.

But expect more road, trees, family, Ru, landscapes and probably a crystal or two appearing somewhere it wasn't strictly required.

Subject: The festival boxes are moving again.

Initial assessment suggested another routine deployment.

Further investigation has revealed repeated use of the phrase:

“Last festival of the summer.”

Inspector Ru remains skeptical.

Historical evidence suggests that “last one” may subsequently be followed by:

another event, a workshop, several unexplained boxes, one human announcing an exciting new idea.

This investigation remains open. 😄

Festival season is usually photographed once everything looks lovely.

Where the tablecloths are straight, crystals are sparkling, and nobody is hunting for clips or cable ties.

What the photographs never show is that we are running around like crazy people;
packing, loading, driving, unloading, building, and taking it down, and then doing it all again only a day or two later.

There's an enormous amount of ordinary work behind every pretty stall.
As we head towards the last festival Ancient Oak , I'm feeling rather fond of the messy bits too.

It's all part of the journey and our story.

If you could take only THREE crystals away with you for a couple of weeks, what would make the cut?

Not the three you think you should choose.

The three you'd actually reach for.

Mine would probably include something grounding, something familiar, and inevitably one completely impractical piece I convinced myself was essential. 😄
