THE FLOORING IS THE FINISH. THE PREPARATION IS WHAT MAKES IT POSSIBLE.

Here’s a great example of the work that happens before the new flooring even comes out of the box.

This bathroom has been fully prepared with a smoothing compound, creating a smooth, level and consistent subfloor ready for the finished flooring to be installed.

Why does this matter? Because imperfections underneath can affect the appearance and performance of the flooring above. Proper preparation gives the finished floor the foundation it needs.

At Cheshunt Flooring, we don’t just turn up and cover over problems. We assess the existing subfloor, carry out the preparation required and make sure it’s ready before we move on to the final installation.

It’s an extra step the customer may never see once the job is complete, but it’s one of the reasons our finished floors look the way they do. 👌🏼

From preparation to installation, we take care of the complete job.

💪 YOUR NEW FLOOR IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE SURFACE BENEATH IT.

You can choose the best flooring in the world, but if the subfloor isn’t properly prepared, the finished result will never be as good as it should be.

That’s why at Cheshunt Flooring, preparation isn’t an afterthought, it’s an essential part of the installation.

Depending on the condition of the existing floor, our team can carry out the necessary preparation to create a clean, smooth and level surface ready for your new flooring. That extra attention at the beginning helps achieve a better finish and gives your new floor the foundation it deserves.

It’s the part of the job that eventually gets covered up, but it’s also one of the most important parts to get right. 👌🏼

From preparation through to the final fit, we take care of the whole job.

SAFETY FLOORING IS ABOUT MORE THAN WHAT’S UNDERFOOT.

In environments where hygiene, safety and durability really matter, the way a floor is installed is just as important as the flooring itself.

One specialist technique we use is known as cap and cove. Rather than finishing the flooring flat at the edge of the room, the safety flooring is formed up the wall, creating a smooth, continuous transition between the floor and wall.

Why is this important? It reduces difficult to clean junctions around the perimeter and creates a more hygienic, practical finish, making it particularly suited to environments such as:

🏥 Healthcare and clinical settings
🚿 Wet rooms and accessible bathrooms
🧑‍⚕️ Care homes and treatment rooms
🏫 Schools and nurseries
🍴 Commercial and hygiene sensitive areas

The joints can also be heat welded, creating strong, sealed seams designed to withstand demanding environments, regular cleaning and heavy use.

At Cheshunt Flooring, we’re not limited to domestic carpets and beautiful LVT. Our experience extends to specialist and contract flooring installations, including safety flooring, cap and cove work and welded joints.

So whether it’s a new carpet for your lounge or specialist flooring for a commercial or clinical environment, we have the knowledge and experience to get it right.

✨ THE FINISH SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.

There’s something special about seeing a new floor completely transform a room, and this beautifully finished herringbone floor is a perfect example. 👌🏼

From the initial preparation through to the final piece being fitted, every detail matters. Getting the lines right, achieving a clean finish around the edges and taking the time to fit everything with precision is what turns great flooring into a properly finished room.

At Cheshunt Flooring, we bring over 40 years of flooring experience to the homes of our local community, combining quality products with workmanship we’re proud to put our name to.

🛠️ A PERFECT FLOOR STARTS WITH WHAT’S UNDERNEATH.

You might never see the preparation once your new flooring is fitted, but it can make all the difference to the finished result.

At Cheshunt Flooring, we take subfloor preparation seriously. Before your new flooring goes down, we make sure the surface is properly prepared, levelled and ready to provide the best possible foundation.

Whether it requires smoothing compounds, latex, floor preparation or remedial work, our experienced team make sure the groundwork is done properly.

Because there’s little point investing in a beautiful new floor if the surface underneath isn’t right. 👌🏼
