Hilary Smith (née Randell)

Passed away on 27th September 2026, aged 60 years.

A dearly loved Mam, Nana, sister, Aunty and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service to take place at Birtley Crematorium on Tuesday 20th October 2026 at 2:30pm.

Family and friends, both past and present, are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Hilary’s life.

Following the service, all are welcome at The Wheatsheaf, Chester-le-Street, for refreshments and to share memories.

Colourful clothing is requested, with festive touches encouraged in honour of Hilary’s love of colour and Christmas.

Loved beyond words, missed beyond measure.

A beautiful floral tribute for Joe’s funeral on Friday by the hugely talented Joannes Flowers 🪻🪷🌹

The coffin spray was made even more personal by incorporating Joe’s own fishing rod into the arrangement, which was such a lovely touch and a perfect reflection of something he loved.🎣

Unfortunately, the fishing rod had already been carefully removed and returned to the family before I managed to take this photo, but the flowers still looked absolutely stunning…

It takes some talent to make a fish from flowers 🐟

Personal touches like these make such a difference and help make every funeral completely unique to the person we’re saying goodbye to ❤️
