LOOK WHAT I FOUND!

I love snow drops something about the way they symbolise purity and new beginnings due to being the first flower to bloom at the end of winter - a simple of hope.

But I also love their dark side - all sweet and innocent on the top but their bulbs are themselves extremely poisonous.

Brings back to a reality if truth new starts and everything is going to be amazing - yet all the new years resolutions starting to weaken, or things are not what they actually seem on the surface.

I know looking on Instagram it’s really easy to see how beautiful life can look. But in reality life can suck underneath it all.

I’m definitely guilty of doing this, comparing is too easy, for me its being eco and more plastic free - I mean if I see another video about using vinegar and bi-carb in your home!! I often feel lost and unsure where to go or feel overwhelmed by it all.

But its good to reflect upon how far you have come rather than har far you have to go. Yes we use bamboo toothbrushes, we don’t use sponges, we make sure we recycle everything we can - even if that means going somewhere else to do it. Could we buy less items in plastic - Yes, could we eat less meat - Yes .

Don't get down hearted at looking at perfect eco warriors (they are just snow drops too!) and just look at the small things you can do, the small steps.

What small steps are you going to try?

For us tablet toothpaste was a no go - a step too far for now, but if your looking for a new toothbrush check out the ones I have in my shop.

LIFES TO SHORT TO WEAR BORING CLOTHES -

Let your rainbows shine inside your drawers with these easy to assemble 100% recycled and recyclable drawer inserts.

They have been a massive help in my children’s wardrobe where they can see what clothes they want to wear without getting everything out. The perfect budget friendly draw organisers that are good for the environment too.

There are so many options out there but almost all are made from some sort of plastic, or plastic based fabrics and felts. I wanted something easy to use and durable and voila here they are.

This set of 3 boxes includes:
1 x 16 compartment box
1 x 5 compartment box
1 x one compartment box

As the great ‘Robin Williams’ once said “Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!’”

And I am so grateful January is over - after the kids all getting chickenpox and then bragging about not getting covid - we have just come out of isolation. I feel I only have myself to blame for bragging.

I decided to make a new wreath for our door to reflect upon the new change and start to look forward to spring.

brought these lovely flowers from for my 2nd and had gone past their best before on my dinning table. I’ve started a new job as a Social Prescriber to the over 50’s for Rural Cheshire .cic which means sadly I wont be a professional organiser for a while. - It marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life.

I will still be running my little eco organising store and looking into new products. Remember if you sign up on my website you get a free toothbrush with your next order and 10% off too!

Is anyone else making a spring wreath?

EAT ME FIRST

One way to combat food waste any home is to make sure you know what’s in your fridge, sounds simple enough right?!

You see all these large family larder like fridges and how they have everything neatly organised, labelled and trying to create that unrealistic but aseptically pleasing can be tough.

It can take some time to organise your fridge and find the correct place for everything but honestly once you have there will be fewer what-is-that-jar-of-mold-lurking-in-the-back moments.

You can read so many blogs about what should and should mix - like fruits and veg should never mix - they just written each other up too much. I love using the netted bags to keep all the veg together. But it honestly is about what works for you and your family.

For example we have a whole drawer full of cheese - yes we are aware we have a problem with cheese addiction.
I’m also short, so I have used my bamboo trays for all our jars on the top shelf so I can pull them out easier.
We also have a rule that if the packed is open (like grapes, or tomatoes) then they have been washed and ready to eat so look for that first.

What useful tips have you go for keeping your fridge organised?

MORE GREEN PLEASE

I’ve got a new beauty to add my my every green collection. House plants can always save the day and make me smile. NASA has even recommended that everyone should have 15–20 houseplants in their home to cleanse the air. And they have done a load of research into the oxygen-producing capabilities of plants for space travel! But I’m assuming that they mean 15 - 20 in each room right?!

So there’s the good news - we must buy more plants! Go visit your nearest garden centre - I love I cannot recumbent them enough, especially as this guy was free!!! Every morning when I look ever it brightens my day - straight from the beginning -THANKYOU!

How is you jungle home looking? Where do you go to get your greens?

EVERYTHING HAS A SHELF LIFE

Despite its reputation as the heart of the home, the kitchen can often be a nightmare to navigate. We all know the pain of digging around at the back of a cupboard to find the right ingredients – and it’s never the first one you come across.

You can instantly double cupboard space by adding this little shelf. An extra shelf can be handy for all cupboards, but especially so for those annoying tins and jars. Now you can see everything you have at once. One of these organisers can stop tins from being lost and forgotten about for months.

Sometimes we want to store things and also display them also, this shelving rack is perfect to store add extra shelving for your essentials in a sleek, stylish way. Ideal for placing on countertops or inside cupboards, the industrial-inspired piece is crafted from a metal and bamboo, can either be side by side or stacked one on top of the other.

Measurements are: 33.5-60 x 19 x 15.5cm

EXTRA EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT

Reviews about my products speak far more than me harping on about them.

And I love nothing more than receiving feed back. I think every Shopify and Etsy seller knows the Cha ching sound that makes us all smile and do a small dance and then the notification about feedback. I always worry people have had a good experience, but the smile and the impulsive sharing of the feedback I get makes me feel I’m doing something right.

So Thank You to you all. I don’t think you’ll truly know how happy it makes me feel.

FIRE FIRE BURNING BRIGHT

This weekend we have been relaxing. Managed to get the kids to the grandparents for the weekend, leaving James and I to put our feet up and reflect upon the last two years.

It being blue Monday, its easy to focus on the hard. Sometimes we just need a pause in life to sit and realised how far we have actually come. It’s easy to feel like you have to keep going, have to add more jobs to the forever ending ‘to do lists’ and not just to take count on what you have achieved.

It was really lovely to stop, sit down and recall all the good memories of the year, the small achievements. For example we are both - there can’t be that many of us left!
Whoop Whoop.

This year we want to adventure more, get out of our bubble of comfort and go off exploring. I managed to swim in the sea on New Years Day - I want to continue doing this. Although I need gloves!!

What do you want to achieve this year? What have you been happy about last year? What really made you smile?

2 YEARS ON - aspirations are going strong - bathroom is looking more like this picture now which makes me so happy. Cant believe another bottle of Champagne to open to celebrate another year cancer free!

I’ve started to appreciate my scars more and also started to be more adventurous again - basically being much more like the old me but a better new me.

Learning what’s important in life and embracing new life (in my case plants) has helped continue my positive journey. Home’s should not only bring shelter but provide joy, for me, plants bring colour on the dullest days and purify the air, it’s a win win. These pictures remind me to accept and love myself, scars and all. I feel I may do a new one at the weekend for myself to show how much my body has changed again on a year.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.
