**Taking a break** Life with Aubrey is both beautiful and chaotic (exactly as it should be), but it definitely isn't enhanced by the 'mom algorithm' so I'm going to take a break from social media. Am about to sit down with Joe and delete the apps because I just don't have the discipline not to click on them.

We're also going to write a list of "approved sources of information" like La Leche League and Best Start in Life so that I stop asking Google questions and getting conflicting, anxiety inducing answers!!

I'm keeping the messaging apps and have an email address for cello and art stuff - it's [email protected]. I'm notoriously terrible at replying so please don't be afraid to give me an extra nudge or a phone call, because I've probably just moved onto another task and forgotten (I'm a pain in the arse, I know). Maybe I'll get less distracted without the apps 🤞🏻

Lovely Freya the Maine C**n - the only commission I had time for alongside 'A Christmas Carol' and my last one before starting my maternity leave!

Freya had sadly passed away so her portrait was commissioned as a gift by her owner's friend. Such a lovely way to remember her by 🩷. It always feels extra special working on memorial portraits 🕊️

I won't be accepting commissions for a while now while we get used to being a family of five (Bailey and Barley count 🐱🐱) - although baby is still yet to make an appearance at 41 weeks + 3 days!! But I will be back playing shows in the second half of 2026!! 🎶

This, completely unironically, might be one of my favourites 😂. Had so much fun playing Shrek at the beginning of the month! Such a great band and a genuinely well-written cello part!!

It's been a whole month since Les Mis!

At the beginning of July I was lucky enough to play in the pit for the North West amateur premiere of Les Mis 😍. This one was definitely a test of resilience and confidence as I was one of the few who had never played the show before - and it's HARD with a hell of a lot of music to learn - so I felt miles behind everyone else when we started.

I felt like giving up after band call, but I went home and practised my little heart out instead and I'm so proud of the improvement I made throughout the week. Was it perfect - no? Did I give it my best shot, ignore the negative voice in my head and enjoy every minute - yes 🎉

Very proud that I'm tackling difficult shows less than a year and a half into my career!! Next up is Shrek in October with in Chester. I'll leave the link for tickets in my stories!
